Job Responsibilities:
∎ Delegating tasks to technicians and operators, taking charge while on shift.
∎ Shift engineers monitor and track inventory such as supplies and parts.
∎ During a shift, shift engineers will be required to complete multiple work orders, possibly across various departments and machinery.
∎ Work completed during a shift must be recorded in a logbook and all documentation must be kept up to date, usually performed by a shift engineer.
∎ Beyond simply correcting issues, shift engineers will have to undertake planned work as well as schedule further maintenance.
∎ Maintain a safe work environment as outlined.
∎ Follows standards of quality as outlined by ISO and other manufacturing and regulatory controls.
∎ Maintain work order.
∎ Reduce breakdown by preventive maintenance. Prepare maintenance plan and task on basis of machine condition. Record keeping of all maintenance work.
∎ Inspect machinery and identify problems and provide solutions to these problems. Assess mechanical spare parts of the entire plant and initiate procurement of consumables from local markets.
