Job Context:
∎ BRAC University (BRACU) invites applications for an experienced, motivated individual to join as Senior Engineer in the Mechanical Unit of the Operations Office. This position is accountable for providing and ensuring smooth maintenance and services of mechanical systems of the university building. S/he will develop and implement maintenance and service-related operation strategies to ensure the efficient functioning of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), sanitary, plumbing, sewage and waste treatment plant (STP/WT) and associated systems. S/he will e effectively liaison with internal and external stakeholders, build capacity of the mechanical maintenance team and ensure future development plans. S/he will build a sustainable building maintenance culture within the university`s operations.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Oversee and manage the maintenance and operation of the HVAC, Sanitary, plumbing, STP/WTP system within University Building
∎ Overall responsibility for providing smooth sanitary, plumbing, STP/WTP system and preventive maintenance task
∎ Ensuring all sanitary and plumbing work adhere to relevant building codes, regulations and safety standards
∎ Overall responsibility for providing smooth HVAC maintenance and services of the university buildings
∎ Monitor the HVAC systems in the plant room including chillers, boilers, and pumps to ensure their proper functioning
∎ Assist and ensure the performing preventive activities on HVAC equipment such as coils, lubricating moving parts, replacing filters and conducting routine inspection
∎ Drive initiatives in optimizing HVAC system performance by monitoring energy consumption, analyzing data and recommending energy saving measures or improvement
∎ Trouble shooting on priority basis in consultation with supervisor & handling critical situation
∎ Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet maintenance and operation requirements. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards
∎ Develop and manage budgets for maintenance and services of HVAC system
Additional Requirements:
∎ Persons with a relevant professional qualification/degree on HVAC system and building maintenance or building management system (BMS) will get preference.
∎ Practical experience in operation and maintenance of various types electro-mechanical items such as HVAC, MEP, generator, sub-station etc. in a large factory environment or commercial building.
∎ Hands-on experience in installation, testing and commissioning of HVAC system, operation and maintenance management system with engineering background, preferably a minimum of 5-10 years working at a reputed organization.
∎ Strong interpersonal skills and being adept at building relationships with different stakeholders.
∎ Excellent verbal and written communication skills both in Bangla and English.
∎ Proficiency in using MS Office applications and the use of the internet.
∎ Methodical approach to work and a high level of attention to detail.
