Job Responsibilities:
∎ To be familiar with clinical protocols and emergency procedures done in neuro-ICU
∎ To observe and monitor neurological status of all patients communicate major changes and in patient status to registrar on duty
∎ To Observe all ICU rules and successfully perform on ICU key performance indicators such as hand hygiene, procedural technique, CLABSI prevention etc
∎ To attend ward rounds with Consultant and Specialist/ Registrar of the ICU
∎ To maintain high quality medical notes in the patient file to ensure continuity of information and patient care
∎ The resident shall attend day and night equally completing the roster requirements as assigned by the coordinator.
∎ During each shift resident shall perform the responsibility of, taking initial rounds (arrival round) with the last shift resident and get acquainted with all the patients and all the events (if any) during the preceding shift (Resident's hand over)
∎ Write notes on the patient file, to be signed by both the receiving and the relieving resident and counter signed by the receiving and relieving Specialist/ Registrar
∎ To perform basic bedside procedures, like, intravenous cannulation, urethral catheterization, endotracheal suctioning, NG tube placement, draw blood for ABG under the guidance of Specialist/ Registrar.
∎ To provide the care and management of patients who are critically ill under guidance of Neuro-ICU Specialist/ Registrar.
∎ To record all treatments performed in patient notes.
∎ To be familiar with all relevant procedures/policies in the neuro- ICU .
∎ To be aware of the EHD clinical risk programme and report clinical incidents, drug errors and near misses.
∎ To review and write all medication orders as per the advice of consultants
∎ To provide a full hand over to incoming Resident Medical Officer in the next shift
∎ To participate in Academic activities like case presentation, seminars, C.M.E programmes,
∎ To perform Night duty and other duties with punctuality as per rota given from time to time
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 30 years
