Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience in drainage, water management, infrastructure, site monitoring, environmental management, or humanitarian programmes.



Responsibilities & Context:

1.1: Drain Cleaning, Monitoring and Intervention

  • Coordinate with the respective SMS agencies to identify the gaps in the drains (primary, secondary and tertiary).  

  • Prepare a month-wise cleaning schedule in coordination with the SMS agencies.

  • Ensure the cleaning ratio is identified based on the clear need of the respective camps.

  • Ensure the cleaning implementation plan is properly rationalized based on the need.

  • Act as the central focal point of DMI for the assigned camps to coordinate the cleaning program of Primary, Secondary and Tertiary drains.

  • Attend the regular Wash sector meetings and update about the progress, upcoming plan and strategy to ensure all parties are on the same page.

  • Act as a strong advocate in the relevant forums in terms of drain cleaning and risk mitigation.

  • Regular follow-up with the respective SMS agencies on the proper use of drain cleaning equipment and tools that are distributed for voluntary cleaning campaigns. 

  • Ensure the cash for workers are selected in a transparent way with the support of MEAL.

  • Mobilize the cash for workers timely to address the blockage in the drains.

  • Maintain good coordination with AMAN to transport the wastes to the dumping sites in a timely manner.

  • Ensure the waste is segregated following the standard guidance.

  • Always effort in linking the ideas between this project and the existing CCCM practices to ensure the best use of resources and 

  • Take the support of the SMS neighborhood groups and thematic groups in community mobilization.

  • Ensure timely reports are submitted.

  • Support the Manager in preparing contextual IEC materials.

  • Ensure proper visibilities in the implementation place.

  • Conduct regular meetings or consultations (formally, informally) with the community people through Neighborhood Groups.

  • Act as a strong advocate and negotiator during sectoral meetings and community consultations, ensuring the voices and needs of the affected community are effectively represented and addressed.

  • Provide innovative, community-driven ideas to support the team and Camp Manager in empowering the community in decision-making processes.
