Job Context:
∎ As of 01 January 2022, approximately 918,841 Rohingya refugees/FDMNs are registered in Bangladesh as part of the Government-UNHCR joint registration exercise, residing in thirty-three extremely congested camps formally designated by the Government of Bangladesh in Ukhiya and Teknaf Upazilas of the Cox`s Bazar District.Humanitarian actors, in consultation with the Government of Bangladesh, will maintain preparedness for camp-level natural and accidental hazards related disaster risk management through physical risk mitigation activities, structural repair and maintenance, including slope stabilization and adequate drainage systems.
∎ Nature-based solutions, such as plantation for slope stabilization, will be increasingly used where required.
∎ Under the leadership of the RRRC, the SMSD Sector will provide support to CiCs to maintain the living conditions in the Rohingya camps, ensure access to adequate assistance and services, and strengthen effective coordination structures for site management and development at the camp level.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide support to Technical Mobilizer and others relevant staff to implement site development schemes.
∎ Lead any kind of survey or DRR assessment on the ground. He/she will participate to the collection of data and to the identification of the schemes within the Camp.
∎ Identification of targeted schemes for Site Development activities.
∎ Maintaining Communication with the community peoples and leaders to ensure the community engagement for construction work.
∎ Assist to hire and manage daily workers/volunteers (CFW) based on agreed criteria, manage the casual laborer database, and support weekly payments to casual laborer
∎ Monitoring daily labor in the field, collecting labor attendance and ensure the quality of construction work.
∎ Material's stock piling and stock management.
∎ Compiling daily report and submit to the Senior Site Development Engineer.
∎ Assist Senior Site Development Engineer for developing the BoQ.
∎ Lead Site development technical Mobilizers & volunteers and provide technical guidance to them.
∎ Monitor Cash for Work to implement effective implementation of CfW guidelines with close coordination with SMS.
∎ Guide skilled and unskilled labors for construction work.
∎ Receive SD materials from the logistic department.
∎ Represent all camp SD activities to the camp authority, SMS and other stakeholders.
∎ Generate DRR and completion reports through KoBo toolbox.
∎ Ensure woman and Persons with disabilities in CFW activities based on the appropriate skills and need & ensure their protections.
∎ Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
