Job Responsibilities:
∎ OP COLLECTION:
∎ Check the requisition properly.
∎ Label the test tubes according to the tests required.
∎ Clean the site with spirit swab, dry it and collect the blood.
∎ After collecting the blood, the name and the type of sample collected to be entered in the main register.
∎ Special test instruction to be given to the patient A. For GTT test: After the fasting sample collected 75 gms of glucose to be given to the patient. B. Instruction to be given where the time for 2nd and 3 rd sample tube given to noted C. For mantoux - instruction slip to be given to the patient. Instruct the patient not to wash the instruction area with soap and water.
∎ Check the samples before dispatching to respective departments.
∎ Maintaining the quality in each procedure.
∎ IP COLLECTION:
∎ To receive the request of the inpatients online.
∎ Arrange the tray for blood collection
∎ Check the details in the requisition slip and label the test tube according to the request.
∎ Knock at the door, wish the patient and explain the procedure and then collect the samples
∎ When all the samples are collected it is acknowledged online in the computer. The computer also gives the indication to the concerned labs about the receipt of samples.
∎ After collecting, all the samples are arranged according to the departments and dispatched to concerned labs.
∎ Special test instruction is given to the patient if needed.
∎ Maintaining the quality.
