Job Responsibilities:
∎ • Supervise and lead a team of nurses, surgical technicians, and support staff within the Neuro OT. Delegate responsibilities and ensure an efficient workflow.
∎ • Responsible for creating and maintaining schedules for neurosurgery by collaborating with consultants and surgeons.
∎ • Serve as a liaison between management, nurses, and technicians.
∎ • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of neurosurgical procedures, equipment, and patient care protocols. Provide guidance and support to nurses/technicians during complex neurosurgical cases.
∎ • Ensure sterile practices, assist the surgical team, and collaborate with the team to ensure optimal surgical site exposure during surgery.
∎ • Responsible for ensuring patient safety and well-being during a surgical procedure, effectively communicating with healthcare professionals, and providing emotional support to patients and their families.
∎ • Assisting in patient transfer to the post-anesthesia care unit, or ICU, monitoring recovery, and providing postoperative education on wound care, activity restrictions, and potential complications.
∎ • Maintaining precise records of patient care, surgical procedures, and medication administration, as well as documenting any changes in the patient's condition during the procedure and recovery phase.
