Job Responsibilities:
∎ Serve as the main contact and microbiologist for productivity efforts by providing testing and research needed to ensure successful launches.
∎ Provide technical support to R&D projects by providing proper and timely support, conducting research studies, challenge testing and routine testing services.
∎ Prepare samples and perform microbiological analysis of ingredients, intermediate or finished products. Methods and duties include microscopy, pour and spread plate, membrane filtration, media preparation, spore crop and inoculums preparation, and microorganism culture maintenance.
∎ Interpret data from routine and troubleshooting analyses.
∎ Design and conduct shelf-life determination studies and microbiological challenge studies for new products and ingredients
∎ Prepare inoculums (yeast, mold, bacteria and spore crops) and conduct research to investigate novel processing technologies.
∎ Validate microbiological laboratory test methods or equipment in order to ensure reliability and accuracy of analytical results.
∎ Perform Laboratory Chemical Inventory & assure proper labeling of all reagents & chemicals.
∎ Assist the lead with the completion of QC/QA activities in an effective and timely manner.
∎ Participates in the overall quality assurance program by performing QC testing and documenting results appropriately. Informs Laboratory Manager and QA department if failures are observed and carries out recommended corrective actions.
∎ Conduct review of scientific literature in order to maintain and improve laboratory knowledge/skills.
∎ Generate new or unique solutions and embrace new ideas that help sustain our business (encompassing everything from continuous improvement to new product and package innovation).
∎ Deliver results, creating value for our brands, our System, our customers and key stakeholders.
∎ All other duties as directed by the Higher Management.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ Only males are allowed to apply
∎ At least 3-5 years experience in the food industry in relevant field.
∎ Demonstrated experience applying knowledge of various microbiology disciplines to modern instrumentation.
∎ Demonstrated experience presenting technical information clearly, both orally and in writing.
∎ Experience setting-up and maintaining laboratory equipment and instrumentation for routine microbiology tests and analyzing environmental and food samples
∎ Basic Food Microbiology: Solid knowledge of food, water and beverage microbiology used to make judgments about the safety of ingredients, beverages, manufacturing processes and storage conditions. Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
∎ Equipment Maintenance: Ability to maintain and calibrate instruments to ensure its accuracy and precision.
∎ Ingredients: Knowledge of key ingredients used in production of concentrates, beverage bases, and finished beverages and food products.
∎ Laboratory Practices: Strong knowledge and application of Good Laboratory Practices (e.g., handling of media, reagents and glassware, preparation of media and reagents, aseptic handling and inoculation of samples, proper measuring techniques, data management.
∎ Meticulous attention to detail.
∎ Strong work ethic.
∎ An overall "CAN DO" attitude.
