∎ NESL now invites applications from competent candidates for the post of Mechanical Construction Supervisor for employment with one of our prospective clients working to set up a grid-tied solar power plant in Bangladesh.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Supervise and manage crews of skilled and unskilled mechanical construction work, including company employees and subcontractors at the construction site of a solar power generation plant.
∎ Monitor, review and, where required, recommend improvement of mechanical construction activities of company employees and subcontractors to ensure that all mechanical construction activities are carried out safely and fully in accordance with company’s technical scope and budget.
∎ Review and implement mechanical design drawings and specifications.
∎ Develop work plan and follow ups on progress during the construction.
∎ Ensure implementation of applicable mechanical and environmental codes and regulations during project execution.
∎ Oversee the formal planning, tracking, and reporting.
∎ Take responsibility for the discipline and timekeeping of workers and subcontractors in relevant work areas.
∎ Review design and work plan to ensure constructability and resolve any unexpected mechanical difficulties and other problems that may arise.
∎ Review material and equipment deliveries and report discrepancies and/or shortage to appropriate authority.
∎ Review method statements, risk assessments and job safety analysis. Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the agreed procedures.
∎ Liaise with the supervisors of other discipline on a continuous basis to ensure smooth execution of the construction activities.
∎ Monitor mechanical activities and ensure adequate resources are available for optimum progress of the work in the mechanical discipline.
∎ Maintain and track inventory of mechanical construction items on the project site.
∎ Manage all health and safety aspects associated with mechanical component of the construction site.
∎ Perform any other duties deemed relevant by the project management.
Additional Requirements:
∎ A minimum of 5 years of experience in similar role; experience in power generation construction project preferable.
∎ Must be proficient in use of computer programs such as MS Word, Excel, AutoCAD AND Internet.
∎ Must physically fit to navigate and work in remote field locations and work outdoors in difficult weather conditions. Must be able to walk, hike, climb ladders, and work on steep, rough terrain for extended periods of time.
∎ Strong multitasking ability to watch over different teams and activities at the same time.
∎ Strong communication and team playing skills to interact with colleagues at all levels.
