Job Context:
∎ The functions of the Bangladesh offices of the Accord on Fire and Building Safety in Bangladesh have transitioned to the RMG Sustainability Council (RSC), a permanent national organisation with equal representation from RMG manufacturers, global apparel companies, and trade unions representing garment workers.
∎ The RSC will continue with factory inspections, remediation monitoring, safety training and an independent safety & health complaints mechanism available to workers in RMG factories.
∎ The RSC seeks a Managing Director to lead the RSC`s work in ensuring worker safety in the Bangladesh Ready Made Garment industry. Reporting to the Board of the RSC, the position will be based in Dhaka, Bangladesh

Job Responsibilities:
∎ KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES will include but will not necessarily be limited to :
∎ Leading the RMG Sustainability Council (RSC) Bangladesh Office:
∎ The Managing Director (MD) is the head of the Bangladesh RSC office. She or he is responsible for the overall management of the organisation, and is charged with implementing the strategy approved by the RSC Board of Directors, to which the Managing Director reports.
∎ Managing Budget and Resources:
∎ The Managing Director has the responsibility of developing and managing resources available to the RSC. This will include making sure that there are robust administrative processes, adequate controls, and financial systems so that the RSC is an effective custodian of the funds and resources placed at its disposal, with the highest standards of accountability and transparency.
