Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor degree in any discipline
∎ Post Graduate Diploma in Supply Chain Management would be preferred.
∎ Training/Trade Course: Training in Supply Chain Management will get preference
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 5 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ To ensure the day to day function and management of the Procurement work/task of the hospital. Including but not limited to:
∎ To procure all medical, surgical and nursing equipment and supplies (except Pharmaceutical supplies) at most economical rates yet ensuring a high quality standard.
∎ To ensure all medical and nursing equipment are under maintenance agreements and all equipment are serviced regularly and maintained in good working condition.
∎ To ensure that usage of all equipment and medical have been priced and charged according to the policies and procedures laid down by the Hospital.
∎ To supervise and oversee all staff activities and functions of the Purchasing and Central Store including sub-stores, ensuring its smooth and effective service to all relevant departments.
∎ Management of business process outsourcing activities
∎ Identification and realization of cost-saving and cost-reduction opportunities
∎ Selection and management of procurement systems
∎ Management of procurement staff in (and across) sourcing, contracting, transactional purchasing, supplier management, and miscellaneous internal procurement support activities
∎ Creating a talent management process in coordination with HR to ensure that the right resources are in place
∎ Managing the skills and competency development of procurement staff, including training development and knowledge management capabilities.
∎ Leadership of cross-functional teaming across other business functions and initiatives
∎ Budget management for categories under management – and for procurement itself
∎ Development of benchmarks and scorecards to be used for continuous improvement
∎ Building a Procurement Center of Excellence (CoE) to help transform Procurement, and also support broader transformation of the value chain and the enterprise.
∎ To liaise with Accounts and all departments in the management of the department’s inventories and taking of yearly physical inventories.
∎ To conduct periodic staff meetings, to inform staff of changes in Hospital, Department policies and procedures.
∎ To develop, implement and review all policies and procedures for the Department.
∎ To maintain up-to date knowledge and practice of Purchasing trends and new developments in the field.
∎ Complies with all Hospital policies and procedures.
∎ To carry out duties as an employee as stipulated in Occupational Safety and Health Act and Regulations 1994.
∎ To take reasonable care at work for the safety of yourself and other persons.
∎ To co-operate with your employer or any other person in the discharge of any duty.
∎ To wear or use any protective equipment or clothing provided by the employer;
∎ To comply with any instruction or measure on Occupational Safety and Health.
∎ Fully receptive and supportive in the activities that contribute towards continuous improvement of Purchasing services e.g. Quality Assurance and Fire and Safety Program.
∎ To participate and contribute as Committee member in meetings.
∎ To carry out any other function/administrative tasks as delegated by the Managing Director.

∎ Excellent communication skills
∎ Excellent problem solving skill
∎ Proven ability to work independently and working together with other colleagues
∎ Language skills both in Bangla and English
∎ Good negotiation skills.
∎ Have good network and contacts with the different vendors.

∎ Experience of working in a hospital based Procurement Service environment would be an additional advantage.
∎ Experience of any procurement service related training would be a plus for this position.
