∎ NESL now invites applications from competent candidates for the post of Lighting Engineer for employment with our prospective clients working in infrastructure projects such as airports, sea ports, power plants, bridges, mass rapid transit system, etc.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Lead the lighting design for projects, assuring that technical, schedule and budget targets are met in accordance with client expectations and applicable professional standards
∎ Work on commercial scale projects through all phases of construction: schematic design, design development, construction documents, and pre/post construction support
∎ Developing detailed lighting designs for industrial, commercial and residential facilities
∎ Design all electrical reticulations for industrial, commercial and residential facilities
∎ Survey and provide work estimates on electrical distribution infrastructure projects
∎ Assess current design tools and software to determine efficiency and delivery of design solutions
∎ Produce visual materials, using various computer software such as AutoCAD, CorelDraw, Adobe Creative Suite, etc., to represent lighting designs including wiring diagrams and physical mock samples
∎ Create and/or specify bills of materials based on project designs including luminaires, power components, wiring, control systems, and submittal documentation requirements
∎ Collaborate across design disciplines teams including architects, electrical engineers, electricians, and other consultants or contractors.
∎ Consult with manufacturers, evaluate materials, and select lighting systems
∎ Coach assigned lighting design staff
∎ Supervise installation of approved lighting systems
∎ Ensure work undertaken complies with project specification and relevant Occupational Health and Safety regulations and quality systems procedures
∎ Give structure to ideas – concept ideas, diagrams and renderings, spreadsheets, reports and analyses for discussion
∎ Attend meetings and identify creative requirements to better interpret project needs.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 3 years’ experience in similar position
∎ Excellent proficiency computer-aided design techniques and software such as AutoCAD, CorelDraw, Adobe Creative Suite; proficient in
∎ Excellent oral, written, and graphic design communication skills
∎ Solid understanding of lighting design industry with an emphasis on architectural lighting and lighting concepts
∎ Experience of working in multi-cultural environment/multi-national organization(s)
∎ Effective team playing and multi-tasking skills.
