Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Collect concrete samples from construction sites.
∎ Perform tests on fresh concrete (e.g., slump test, air content test, unit weight test).
∎ Test hardened concrete samples (e.g., compressive strength test, flexural strength test).
∎ Ensure concrete materials meet project specifications and standards.
∎ Verify the quality of cement, aggregates, and admixtures.
∎ Assist in designing concrete mix proportions to achieve desired strength, durability, and workability.
∎ Adjust mix designs based on site conditions and test results.
∎ Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment (e.g., compressive testing machines, sieves).
∎ Ensure all tools are in proper working condition.
∎ Record test results accurately and maintain laboratory logs.
∎ Prepare detailed reports for engineers, clients, or project managers.
∎ Follow industry standards such as ASTM, ACI, or EN for concrete testing.
∎ Stay updated on new materials and testing methods.
∎ Work closely with engineers and site teams to troubleshoot concrete-related issues.
∎ Provide feedback on concrete performance to improve mix design.
