Requirements:
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Identifys epidemiologically important infecion related issues so that appropriate plans for action can be designed including Surveillance, Outbreak Investigations, and PerformanceImprovement Projects.
∎ Performs targeted surveillance of specified Healthcare Associated Infections, outbreak investigations, and ad hoc projects as defined by the Infection Control Committee Monitors for compliance with Infection Control issues such as medical wastes, infectious disease exposures, and exposure to blood borne pathogens .
∎ Drafts, reviews, and evaluates Infection Control policies, protocols and plan based on risk assessment.
∎ Acts as department liaison for Infection Control other departments and personnel to reduce the risk of disease transmission in the facility.
∎ Provides in-service training to all employees on Infection Control techniques and Policies and Procedures.
