∎ Degree in Naval Architecture, Offshore Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other relevant subject.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Design ships and boats, related components and specialist equipment (**Dredger), using complex mathematical and physical models to ensure that the ship's design is technically sound, and it complies with safety regulations.
∎ Interact with clients, ensuring compatibility with client specifications and recommends cost-effective improvements to equipment selection/specifications within the scope of client requirements taking responsibility for different phases of ship and equipment procurement.
∎ Plan the whole build process of a vessel, managing everything from concept through delivery of the final product.
∎ Provide clients with engineering solutions, technical and commercial guidance, support and project management for concept design studies, new vessel constructions, refits and conversions.
∎ Conduct a risk analysis of ships and marine structures, using the regulations of classification societies and intergovernmental organizations such as the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Department of Shipping (DOS) to assess aspects of design such as strength, stability and lifesaving & Firefighting apparatus.
∎ ** If you specialize in construction, you may take responsibility for the management of a whole shipyard or for sections of it, such as planning or production.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Strong marine design background and ideally experience of working on 15-100m vessels
∎ At least 5 years' experience in Ship Design sector
∎ Experience in leading projects. Capable of performing duties with no direct supervision and within agreed schedules and budgets.
∎ Shipyard experience / understanding of production requirements
∎ Excellent communication skills
∎ Capable of developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients
∎ Confident in liaising with colleagues and clients at senior level
∎ Highly motivated when working as part of a team
Salary: Negotiable
