Responsibilities & Context:

The role

We are building the group-level corporate website a Bangladeshi conglomerate with multiple operating subsidiaries. The site is the umbrella identity for the group: it presents sector coverage to institutional and B2B buyers, routes traffic to individual subsidiary websites, and consolidates every inbound enquiry into one attributed, CRM-connected pipeline.

You will build a bespoke WordPress theme from scratch against a completed UI design system and approved page designs. This is not a theme-customisation role and not a page-builder role. Designs, brand guideline, content model and sitemap are all delivered to you signed-off before development begins — your job is to turn them into a fast, semantic, editor-friendly WordPress build that holds up for years as new companies are added.

What you will build

14 templates

Home · Standard content · Leadership · Credentials · Companies index · Company detail · Sectors index · Sector detail · Services index · Service detail · Media hub · Media detail · Gallery album · Contact.

8 client-editable CMS collections

Companies · Sectors · Services · Management · Media (News / Event / CSR) · Gallery Albums · Affiliations · Downloads.

Built as custom post types and taxonomies with structured field groups (ACF Pro or Meta Box). Editors must be able to add a company, a sector or a service — and have it appear correctly everywhere it is cross-referenced — without touching code, HTML or a page builder.

Relational architecture

The site runs on a hub-and-spoke model with sectors as the spine. Sector pages pull their related companies, services and media posts automatically. Company and service pages link back to their sectors. These relationships are data-driven, not hand-maintained — bidirectional relationship fields with automatic reverse queries. Nothing sits more than three clicks from the home page.

Core functionality

Centralised lead engine — one form system behind every enquiry point, auto-tagged with the sector, service or company context of the page it sits on. Every submission is written to the database first, so leads survive CRM downtime, and is viewable and exportable from the WordPress admin.

CRM integration — submissions pushed on save with full source attribution (page, sector, campaign parameters, referrer). Platform to be confirmed at kick-off; build the integration behind an abstraction layer so the endpoint can change without a rewrite.

Gated profile downloads — group and per-company profile PDFs delivered by emailed link rather than direct download, so the lead is verified. Download events logged against the lead record.

Subsidiary link-out — tracked outbound links to each subsidiary's own website, opening in a new tab, with click events fired to GA4.

Media publishing — category-filtered hub (News / Events / CSR), related-post logic, events carrying status and optional registration.

Organogram and gallery — leadership organogram as a component on the Leadership page (static or interactive, to be confirmed); album-based gallery with lightbox and embedded video support.

Technical requirements

These are acceptance criteria, not preferences.

Server-rendered, semantic HTML. Content that only appears after JavaScript executes is invisible to search crawlers and AI agents and will not pass review. JavaScript enhances; it does not deliver content.

Core Web Vitals green on mobile for every template at launch — LCP < 2.5s, INP < 200ms, CLS < 0.1, verified on throttled 4G.

No page builder. No Elementor, WPBakery, Divi or equivalent. Native blocks or clean template partials only.

Lean dependency stack. Every plugin must be justified. Assets bundled, minified, conditionally enqueued — no site-wide loading of per-template code.

Full schema markup, hand-built and validated: Organization with subOrganization across the company pages (this is the critical one — it teaches search engines the parent/subsidiary relationship), plus Person, Article, Event, FAQPage and ItemList where applicable.

AEO structure honoured in markup. Each sector and service template opens with a self-contained answer block and carries FAQ blocks; these must be marked up so they are extractable without surrounding context.

robots.txt permitting AI crawlers — GPTBot, ChatGPT-User, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot, anthropic-ai, Google-Extended, Bingbot — plus /llms.txt at site root.

Clean URL structure matching the approved sitemap exactly, XML sitemap, canonicals, and a redirect map applied at migration.

Named author and visible publish/updated dates rendered on every media post.

Accessibility: WCAG 2.1 AA — keyboard navigation, focus states, colour contrast per the brand guideline, correct heading hierarchy, meaningful alt text fields in the CMS.

Security and compliance: SSL, hardened login, spam protection on all forms, role-based editorial access, cookie consent and privacy compliance.

Analytics: GA4 and Search Console configured, with events on enquiry submission, profile download and subsidiary link-out.

Version control: Git, meaningful commit history, feature branches, staging → production deployment path.

Required experience

4+ years building custom WordPress themes from scratch — demonstrable, with URLs.

Strong PHP, modern JavaScript, HTML5, CSS (SCSS or Tailwind), and the WordPress template hierarchy, hooks and query APIs.

Proven work with custom post types, custom taxonomies and relationship fields on content-heavy, relational sites — not blogs and not brochureware.

ACF Pro or Meta Box to an advanced level, including flexible content, repeaters and bidirectional relationships.

Hands-on performance optimisation: caching layers, image pipelines, critical CSS, query optimisation, and reading a Lighthouse or WebPageTest trace and acting on it.

Schema.org / JSON-LD implementation without relying on an SEO plugin to generate it.

Form handling, third-party REST API integration and webhook-based CRM connections.

Building to a design system — translating Figma into components faithfully, including states, spacing tokens and responsive behaviour.

Git-based workflow, staging environments, and documented handover.

Advantageous

Experience with corporate group or conglomerate websites; multilingual builds (English/Bangla is under consideration); headless or hybrid WordPress; WP-CLI; automated deployment; prior work on sites subject to tender or prequalification scrutiny.

Ways of working

Designs arrive complete. Wireframes, the UI design system and every unique template are approved by the client before your first commit — you are not expected to design, and you should not need to invent layout decisions. Where a design is genuinely ambiguous, you raise it rather than guess.

Weekly build reviews on staging with the Mas Origins project lead.

Template-by-template sign-off, in dependency order: foundations and design tokens first, then the sector spine, then companies and services, then media and gallery, then integrations.

Content population and QA are collaborative; you fix defects found in QA within the engagement.

Deliverables at handover

Bespoke theme in a Git repository, with the client's licence to the code.

All 14 templates and 8 collections live, populated and editable.

Lead engine and CRM integration working end to end, with database fallback proven.

Technical SEO layer complete: schema, sitemap, robots.txt, llms.txt, canonicals, redirects.

Passing Core Web Vitals and WCAG 2.1 AA checks on every template.

Documentation: setup, deployment, field-group reference, and a short editor guide for the client's content owner.

30 days of post-launch defect support.
