Job Context:
∎ Overall Job Purpose:
∎ The Fire & Life Safety Data Management Coordinator (FLSDMC) is a part of the Fire & Life Safety Department of the RSC team in Bangladesh. The role reports into the Team Leader Fire & Life Safety Engineer and is based in the RSC office in Dhaka / Chittagong / Other offices establishment in future.
∎ The role is responsible for coordination at workplaces & data management in assigned area for practical execution of the safety inspections, remediation, verification, and technical consultation components of the RSC. The role assists the Team Leader Fire & Life Safety Engineer in the execution of day-to-day operations of the department, regular reporting, and data management.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ 1. Scheduling and Execution of Factory Inspections
∎ Team monitoring, inspection scheduling, workload distribution & reporting to the Team Leader Fire & Life Safety Engineer.
∎ Provide support to the RSC inspection program and training initiatives.
∎ Assist the Team Leader Fire & Life Safety Engineer with scheduling and coordination with the contracted inspection companies to ensure efficiency of the inspection's schedules.
∎ 2. Data Management & Coordination
∎ Provide engineering data management support to TL FLSE, DHoD, FLSE and HoD, FLSE to manage & implement Initial, Pre-T&C and T&C design document receive, on desk review, listing / credibility check, system requirement determination, design distribution, tracker update, data analysis & review and CAP review.
∎ Identifying possible fire-related risks and reducing or eliminating them.
∎ Data management, tracking & monitoring the review of Standpipe System, Automatic Fire Sprinkler System, Fire Pump, Automatic Fire Detection & Alarm System and Passive Fire Protection Designs with written comments.
∎ Data management, tracking & monitoring of Testing & Commissioning Verification for the Fire Protection System as Automatic Sprinkler System, Standpipe System, Fire Pump and Fire Detection & Alarm System.
∎ Maintain accurate, detailed, and verified qualitative and quantitative data and case files for each assigned factory.
∎ 3. Quality Assurance
∎ Ensure quality assurance on report writing and publishing to the FFC.
∎ Maintain accurate, detailed, and verified qualitative and quantitative data and case files for each assigned factory.
∎ 4. Remediation Plans
∎ Conduct necessary follow up to ensure remediation plans & to finalize within the given timeframes by RSC.
∎ Alert the RSC leadership about problems, obstacles or challenges to finalize and execution of the remediation/corrective action plans derived from RSC safety inspections.
∎ Liaise as needed with RSC OSH remediation and complaint handlers and health committee trainers in the effort to monitor and verify execution of remediation plans and enforcement of OSH complaint resolutions.
∎ Necessary liaise with Case Handling Team on inspection, verification, design review, data analysis, follow up with factory & CAP finalization.
∎ Provide technical support to factory, worker, and brand representatives related to remediation plan execution and OSH complaint handling/resolution.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in a relevant role with an engineering organization.
∎ Key Skills:
∎ Technical and practical data management proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel and relevant software. Proficiency in efficient use and management of e-mail communications; and ability to manage data on multiple individual cases.
∎ Proficiency in written and spoken English.
∎ Excellent organisational and recordkeeping skills to manage information and documentation.
∎ Ability to work accurately and efficiently to meet deadlines.
∎ Capability to work effectively with workers, factory owners/managers, brand representatives.
∎ Professionalism, discretion, and the ability to achieve timeline & goal even with stressful situations.
∎ Integrity, honesty, a strong work ethic, and commitment to the goals of the RSC's workplace safety.
∎ Strong communication skills, with the ability to build excellent working relationships.
