Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
Preferable completed CA course.

Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, especially in Tally Prime and MS Excel

Experience Requirements:
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in development or donor-funded projects.
Strong knowledge of accounting systems, budgeting, and financial reporting.
Experience with NGO financial compliance and audit procedures will be preferred.
Ability to work under pressure and willing to visit field offices

Background
Nagorik Uddyog is a national level human rights and development organization working in Bangladesh to promote social justice, strengthen democratic governance, and advance the rights of marginalized and excluded communities. With long-standing experience in labour rights advocacy, community empowerment, legal aid, and policy engagement, the organization places special emphasis on women workers, informal sector labour rights, and rights-based grassroots mobilization.
Building on this experience, the project “Empowering Women Workers for Rights and Safety” (39 months, 1 September 2026 – 30 November 2029) is designed to strengthen the collective agency, leadership, and workplace rights of women engaged in informal and subcontracted Ready-Made Garment (RMG) production contexts in Bangladesh. The project focuses on enhancing their awareness of labour rights and occupational safety, and developing their capacity for collective action, negotiation, and workplace dialogue. Through structured training, peer leadership development, workplace coordination mechanisms, research, and advocacy, the project aims to improve working conditions, strengthen grievance systems, and amplify women workers’ voices in decision-making spaces.
Job Summary
The Finance Officer will be responsible for managing all financial operations of the project, ensuring accurate budgeting, accounting, reporting, and compliance in line with organizational policies and donor requirements. The position will play a key role in maintaining financial transparency, supporting effective utilization of project funds, and ensuring proper documentation for audits and reporting.
The role requires strong financial management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate with project teams to ensure smooth financial planning and implementation support.
Job Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Budget Management
Assist in preparation of annual and activity-based budgets in coordination with project management.
Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets.
Ensure proper allocation of costs across project components.
Support budget revisions and financial forecasting when required.
Accounting & Financial Record Keeping
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records of all project transactions.
Ensure proper documentation of vouchers, receipts, invoices, and supporting documents.
Process payments in compliance with financial procedures and approvals.
Maintain cash book, ledger, and project accounts systematically.
Financial Reporting
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and donor submission.
Support narrative and financial reporting alignment with project outputs.
Ensure timely submission of financial statements and expenditure reports.
Compliance & Audit Support
Ensure compliance with donor regulations, NGO Affairs Bureau requirements, and organizational financial policies.
Support internal and external audit processes.
Maintain audit-ready documentation at all times.
Address audit queries in coordination with management.
Cash Flow & Fund Management
Manage project cash flow efficiently to ensure smooth implementation of activities.
Monitor advances, settlements, and reconciliations.
Ensure safe custody and control of project funds.
Coordination & Support to Project Team
Work closely with Project Coordinator and Field teams to ensure financial alignment with activities.
Provide financial guidance during planning and implementation of field activities, trainings, and events.
Support logistics-related financial processing for workshops, meetings, and field operations.
Procurement & Administrative Support (Financial Aspect)
Support procurement processes ensuring transparency and value for money.
Review and verify quotations, bills, and procurement documents.
Maintain financial compliance in procurement and service contracts.
Salary: Tk. 47000 - 50000 (Monthly) Two yearly bonus (equivalent to one month’s salary)
Compensation & other benefits: Festival Bonus: 2 (Yearly)
Costs in relation to any fieldwork will be borne by the organization.
