Job Context:

∎ One of our prospective client working in infrastructure projects in Bangladesh is looking for services for the mentioned position.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ ELV engineer proficient in ELV systems and on-site building practices of IT, Telecom, ELV, Electronic Security and Fire Alarm systems design contents as assigned together with its follow-up for Authorities and Client's approval. Responsible for chairing coordination meetings with the contractors to ensure that the intended design is implemented for regular site visits and ensure installation standard is satisfactory. Site-based role and reporting to the Engineering Manager leading the ELV team and delivering the site-supervision of the implementation of a pre-defined design encompassing IT, ELV, Security and Fire Alarm infrastructure.
∎ ELV SYSTEM FOR BUILDINGS STANDS FOR MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL (M&E) EXTRA-LOW VOLTAGE SYSTEM DEPLOYED IN RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS FOR THE PURPOSES OF BETTER CONTROL AND SECURITY. COMPRISES A VARIETY OF SUB-SYSTEMS LIKE:
∎ Video Intercom
∎ CCTV
∎ Sensors & Alarm
∎ Vehicle Access Control
∎ Door Access Control
∎ Lift Access Control
∎ Lighting Control
∎ HVAC Control
∎ Public Address Broadcasting
∎ Tour Guard Patrol
∎ Parking Management
∎ Preparation of Basic Design, Front End Engineering Design and detailed design of the Process Control System and other Extra-Low Voltage systems for the specific project;
∎ Develop Sequence of Operations/Logic Diagrams and cause and effect;
∎ Checking the Design Documents, Studies, Specifications, datasheets and Calculations prepared by other Instrument Engineers;
∎ Execute/Expedite Extra-Low Voltage (ELV) system packages during construction phase of a project and taking responsibility for the assigned packages;
∎ Co-ordination on scheduling activities for Extra Low Voltage (ELV) supervisors on a project to ensure timely delivery at project milestone dates;
∎ Interfacing with other trades during design phase and incorporate their requirements into Extra-Low Voltage system design;
∎ Technical Evaluation of vendor submissions including approval of shop drawings;
∎ Preparing the procedure for testing and commissioning of individual system and assisting in loop commissioning of the controls system;
∎ Guiding Designer/Draftsman for preparing cable routing plan, hookup drawings, wiring drawings, cable schedule, Junction Box schedule, Instrument Air manifold schedule, Block diagrams etc.
∎ Supervise and Mentor Instrument and Automation Engineers during tendering, design and construction phase based on the best practices defined in the engineering efficiency checklists. Prioritize and assign work to the Instrument Engineers. Regularly assess performance of the Extra Low Voltage (ELV) Engineer;
∎ Prepare Extra-Low Voltage system tender packages including specification, drawings, Design Calculations, Material Requisitions, Functional Specifications and Systems Configuration documents;
∎ Responsible for ensuring to remain familiar with current practices and engineering trends within the industry and to remain technically competent;
∎ Tendering and estimating of Process Control and Extra-Low Voltage system works for projects prior to award;
∎ Prepare Technical Bid evaluations and recommendations during project execution;
∎ Adherence to the Corporate and Project Quality Management System;
∎ Liaise with Clients, Consultants, equipment vendors and suppliers where required to ensure compatibility of design interfaces during construction activity;
∎ Project cost and budget control for the Instrument and Extra-Low Voltage packages;
∎ Compilation and Review of Operation and Maintenance Dossier for Projects;
∎ Ad hoc duties as determined by management.
∎ To have a very god knowledge/experience in ELV system _ACS, CCTV, PAS, Telephone, Data, Fire Alarm System and MATV system
∎ To realize site inspection and project specifications & drawings analysis
∎ To issue with the design team preliminary design (in case that the design is not available in tender documents) & equipment selection
∎ To do the shop drawing
∎ To issue the design team of quantities, labor, material and equipment etc.
∎ To provide technical support to the sales team in the nego of the contract
∎ To liaise with the design office the detail design including single line diagram, load calculation, distribution and panel boards schematic diagrams, size cable and wiring layout, final selection if equipment
∎ To prepare construction document
∎ To perform other relevant tasks as required by PM

Additional Requirements:
∎ Five (5) years of experience in the area of Electrical-Mechanical Engineering - three (3) of which must be in project management, administrative and/or supervisory responsibility.
∎ Technical knowledge and understanding of Engineering Design and Construction for field instrumentation, Distributed Control System, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition, Programmable Logic Controller, Direct Digital Controller, Fire and Gas detection & alarm, Safety Instrumented Systems, Closed Circuit, Access Control, Communication and Information Technology systems and ability to motivate employees to optimize safety and efficiency.
∎ Advanced skills and familiarity with Microsoft office suite of programs and other software.
∎ English written and oral communications required
∎ Candidates with work experience from Middle East, Southeast Asia in related field shall be preferred.
