Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Designing and Planning Electrical Systems: Electrical engineers are responsible for designing and planning electrical systems to meet specific project needs using computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed schematics·
∎ Overseeing Construction: They supervise the construction of electrical systems to ensure they are built according to plans and specifications, inspecting work to meet quality standards.·
∎ Coordination: Electrical engineers coordinate with other engineers (mechanical, structural), construction managers, architects, and subcontractors, ensuring the integration of electrical systems into the overall project design.·
∎ Managing Budgets and Schedules: They estimate project costs and manage budgets and timelines, ensuring the project is completed on time and within financial constraints.·
∎ Problem Detection and Resolution: Electrical engineers are responsible for identifying and solving issues that arise during construction, using their technical expertise to find appropriate solutions.·
∎ Safety Standards: Ensuring all electrical installations comply with safety standards and regulations is a crucial part of their role. They enforce safety procedures on-site to protect all workers.·
∎ Documentation: They maintain detailed project documentation, including technical requirements and material compliance, and prepare reports for stakeholders.·
