∎ Job Summary :
∎ In Bangladesh, the USAID has mobilized support the country`s COVID-19 readiness and response efforts. This USAID funding will support three priority areas: (1) strengthening infection prevention and control (IPC) measures in health facilities; (2) improving specimen transport and referral systems; and (3) increasing risk awareness communication and outreach. This builds upon ongoing USAID and other U.S. government investments in the health sector.
∎ Based on the demands of the current situation, we plan to focus our risk communication and community engagement (RCCE) interventions on frontline healthcare professionals (for example, those accessed through government health structure), private and public hospital professionals (for example, those accessed through professional medical bodies), and the general public to take mitigation measures by partnering with key associations, such as journalists; medical associations, and influencers (i.e. religious leaders).
∎ This project`s one of main activities is to provide technical support to government`s initiatives. In this regard, JHUCCP wants to hire a doctor to provide technical support to the IEDCR helpline.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
∎ Understand the relevant procedure(s), SOPs, etc. of the IEDCR helplines and translate those into action when responding to clients' queries over phone
∎ Staff assigned helpline and perform regular duties
∎ Attend calls by providing latest information on COVID-19 from the government
∎ Listen to the queries, symptoms of possible patients/suspects of COVID-19, and take necessary steps as advised by the IEDCR
∎ Maintain privacy of the callers and information of the calls
∎ Perform related duties as assigned under supervision of JHUCCP/IEDCR

Additional Requirements:
∎ Must have been registered by the BMDC
∎ Must have three years work experience after completion of the MBBS degree
∎ Prior experience in a health helpline is a plus
∎ Be an emphatetic listener
∎ Be compassionate and diplomat, having composure
∎ An understanding of public health issues and its relevance to Bangladesh
∎ Familiar with epidemiology, especially in Bangladesh context
∎ Desired qualifications and attributes:
∎ Citizen: Bangladeshi citizen.
∎ Language Skills: Excellent written and oral skills in Bangla and English.
