Education:
∎ Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
Requirements:
Additional Requirements:
∎ Professional certification in shipping operations or marine technical management is preferred.
∎ Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in ship operations or technical management within the maritime industry.
∎ Strong knowledge of maritime regulations, vessel maintenance, and safety standards.
∎ Experience with managing budgets and working with cross-functional teams.
∎ Technical troubleshooting and problem-solving.
∎ Expert at Fleet Management and Maintenance.
∎ Sound knowledge in Regulatory compliance (ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL).
∎ Team leadership and staff development.
∎ Project and budget management.
∎ Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
∎ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
∎ Effective communication and reporting.
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Technical Operations Management: Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day technical operations of the fleet, ensuring that vessels are maintained in optimal condition.
∎ Maintenance Oversight: Ensure the timely and effective execution of planned and unplanned maintenance on all vessels in compliance with company policies and international regulations.
∎ Compliance & Safety: Ensure all vessels comply with maritime safety regulations, ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, and other relevant statutory and class requirements.
∎ Crew Training: Coordinate training programs for technical and operational personnel, ensuring they are updated on the latest technical advancements, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
∎ Budget Management: Assist in preparing and managing the budget for vessel maintenance and operational activities.
∎ Technical Troubleshooting: Provide technical support for troubleshooting operational issues, breakdowns, and repairs, and ensure prompt resolution.
∎ Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records and reports related to vessel technical operations, including maintenance logs, inspections, and certifications.
∎ Collaboration with Other Departments: Work closely with the operations team, management, and external vendors to ensure smooth communication and collaboration on technical and operational matters.
∎ Performance Monitoring: Monitor vessel performance and recommend improvements or modifications to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
∎ Emergency Response: Take part in emergency drills and response activities, providing technical expertise as needed during critical situations.
