Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor's degree in any discipline (preferably B.Sc Engineering) or B.Sc/M.Sc in any discipline
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 8 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Develop, implement, and maintain fire safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, and national fire safety codes and regulations.
∎ Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify fire hazards and non-compliance issues.
∎ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and implement fire safety strategies, plans, and systems.
∎ Provide guidance and support to facility managers, employees, and contractors on fire safety requirements and best practices.
∎ Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of fire prevention and protection measures and recommend improvements as necessary.
∎ Oversee the installation, maintenance, and testing of fire detection, suppression, and control systems, ensuring they are functioning correctly and in compliance with standards.
∎ Coordinate fire safety training and education programs for employees, including fire drills and evacuation procedures.
∎ Liaise with local fire departments, regulatory agencies, and insurance providers to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and maintain positive relationships.
∎ Investigate fire incidents, near-misses, and non-compliance issues, and develop corrective action plans to prevent re occurrence.
∎ Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to fire safety and compliance activities.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 30 years
∎ Successful completion of the Fire Safety Manager Course offered by BFSCD.
∎ Familiarity with the BNBC (Bangladesh National Building Code), NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) codes and standards, as well as the Alliance, Accord, and Nirapon programs.
∎ Proficiency in handling safety audits.
∎ Preferably certified as an ISO 45001 Lead Auditor.
∎ Ability to conduct safety trainings.
∎ Training in other compliance/audit areas will be given preference.
∎ Minimum 8-10 years of experience in the Textiles/Garments industry is necessary.
