Tannery/Footwear
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Develop sound, cost-effective strategies for the international purchasing of materials used in the business
∎ Conduct research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules, and quality
∎ Liaise between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments, and customers
∎ Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers
∎ Keep contract files and use them as a reference for the future
∎ Forecast price trends and their impact on future activities
∎ Keep a constant check on stock levels
∎ Evaluate bids and make recommendations, based on commercial and technical factors
∎ Attend meetings and trade conferences
∎ Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries
∎ Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve the effectiveness
∎ Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company
∎ Perform any other relevant task assigned by the supervisor
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 32 to 42 years
∎ In-depth knowledge of foreign procurement or international purchase.
∎ Strong knowledge of import operation
∎ Forecasting ability to balance demand & supply
∎ Expert in MS-Office
∎ Excellent communication skills
∎ Sound negotiation skills and analytical ability
∎ Target-oriented, self-motivated, and flexible
∎ Ability to handle difficult situations
∎ Ability to perform under huge pressure
