∎ 15 years’ experience in Hospital Administration out of which 5-7 years’ experience as Medical Director in an accredited hospital. Also an experience of managing doctors is essential.
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Divine Mercy Hospital Ltd. (DMHL) is a dynamic project of The Christian Co-operative Credit Union Ltd. (CCCUL) Dhaka. It is located on the outskirts of Dhaka city at proximity to the Dhaka By Pass National Highway at Mothbari, Ulukhola Kaligonj under the District of Gazipur (approx. 12 kilometers from Kuril, Bishwaroad).
∎ Divine Mercy Hospital is a 300 bedded multi-disciplinary hospital to be established with the aim of providing quality health care services at affordable costs to the people of all segments of the society of Bangladesh. It will provide 24 hours emergency and ambulance services, with round the clock doctors, available for treatment of various discipline.
∎ The purpose of this position is to arrange and oversee health-care services of Divine Mercy Hospital and ensuring it runs effectively and efficiently and provide all necessary support to the Director, Medical Services. Deputy Director MS will organize and coordinate physician services and services provided by other professionals as they relate to patient care. He will also ensure that all patients of DMH receive the best services with love, care and compassion.
∎ Deputy Director – Medical Services will work in coordination with other teams, including Nursing, Ancillary, Admin and Finance Department to accomplish goals that promote high-quality patient care while also helping reduce operating costs.
∎ Major Responsibilities:
∎ Deputy Director – Medical Services will work with other staff related to different departments such as Laboratory, Radiology, Emergency, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, IPD, OPD, Bio-medical, CSSD etc. and will be actively involved in setting up the departments with relevant equipment and other necessary furniture from the medical point of view.
∎ Develop and monitor strategic plan, identify health trends, plan for the implementation of new information technology.
∎ To implement laws and regulations in facility or department, monitoring budgets of all medical staff to ensure they stay within prescribed limits.
∎ He/she will also help improve communication between doctors’ offices/hospitals with patients by developing strategies that will lead them through processes more efficiently.
∎ Ensure monitoring the duty roster of doctors, nurses and other employees of Medical Services Dept. in collaboration with the concerned staff.
∎ To ensure strict sterilization of instruments and environment of Operation Theater (OT) of hospital.
∎ Timely and professionally refer to higher service for clinical cases that require treatment beyond the hospital’s capacity.
∎ Will be involved directly in the recruitment and selection process of Medical Services staff in coordination with HR, Admin and CEO. Also, will manage physicians, nurses, paramedics and other medical and non-medical staff.
∎ Responsible to ensure that physicians and care givers deliver services timely to the patients as per set guidelines, policies and procedures.
∎ Shall work with individual department heads to streamline services, develop new services, reduce cost and ensure that staff working under departmental heads are efficient, proactive and motivated.
∎ Shall respond quickly and resolve harmoniously complaints, disputes or grievances of patients or their loved ones resulting out of alleged non-receipt of quality care or negligence on the part of treating physicians or surgeons or any other care givers of the hospitals.
∎ Ensuring that the medical staff and facility comply with the national rules, regulations and codes.
∎ Enhancing cooperation between Nurses, Physicians and relevant medical departments.
∎ Ensuring that medical service-related licenses are up to date, thus preventing the prosecution or termination of the hospital’s services to the public.
∎ Responsible to build and maintain cordial yet workable relationship with physician's and other care givers of the hospital being mindful that physicians bring revenues to the hospital by admitting patients, performing procedures or surgeries.
∎ Assisting with training, continuing education to keep the staff up to date.
