Job Responsibilities:
∎ The primary duty of a CSSD supervisor centers on keeping the facility's stock of sterile devices up to date. This means taking a regular inventory of stocks, identifying shortages and ordering new equipment when necessary.
∎ Receiving a specific budget with which to maintain the supply of devices requiring them to prioritize the needs and spend the funds accordingly.
∎ Ensures the sterility of the equipment in their charge. This includes evaluating equipment storage facilities and developing procedures to keep the equipment free of contamination.
∎ CSSD Technician is generally responsible for the actions of at least one staff member, usually known as a CSSD operator.
∎ Assign duties to staff and monitor their performance.
∎ Ensuring that staff understand and correctly implement relevant policies developed by higher-ups, as well as relaying concerns or questions in the opposite direction.
∎ In charge of the CSSD department.
∎ Responsible for store/departmental complaints.
∎ To be responsible for maintenance, repair of all high power electrical and mechanical machines.
∎ All type of documentations for the benefit of the dept. and supervision, duty arrangement of duties/call duties etc.
∎ Responsible for complete sterility of equipment to the entire hospital including operation theatres, culture etc.
∎ All articles for sterilization by autoclaves have to bring from the respective department.
∎ Daily care of cleaning the sterilizer.
∎ Loading and unloading of the sterilizers, of setting up the articles at the proper place, to and from, clean work area to sterile storage area.
∎ Maintenance of complete records of sterilized material.
∎ Sharping and unlocking of needless, preparation of Pot. Dichromate sol.
∎ Packing of syringes, instruments and special trays.
∎ Washing and cleaning of gloves, instruments, needles and syringes etc.
∎ Maintaining the cleanliness of the dept. and dusting of issuing area, sterilization area.
∎ Messenger service to the wards and department.
∎ Supply of cylinders from gas room to wards and department.
∎ Report shortages
∎ Any other task which is assigned by the management.
