Job Context:
∎ SAMAHAR (Multidisciplinary Research and Development Foundation) is a leading organization that implements various development programs and projects with funding from the Government of Bangladesh, the World Bank, ADB, JICA, and other development partners. Recently, SAMAHAR has been selected by the Local Government Division, under the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development, and Cooperative Government of the People`s Republic of Bangladesh, for implementing the "Urban Primary Health Care Services Delivery Project-II." Under that project, SAMAHAR is inviting applications for the position of Counsellor at Comprehensive Reproductive Health Care Centre (CRHCC) from eligible Bangladeshi talent.
∎ The of Counsellor will responsible to ensure adequate counseling and informed choice to potential contraceptive users. Besides, he or she will be accountable for closely work with the Project Manager and other key staff for smooth running of the centre, maintaining the organization`s priority of enhancing productivity and sustainability while ensuring a client-focused environment and standard of quality. Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ensure adequate counseling and informed choice to potential contraceptive users; Register pregnant women, obtain antenatal history;
∎ Conduct group counseling on nutrition, safe delivery, obstetric emergencies, antenatal/postnatal care, neonatal care, adolescent health family planning, infertility, RTI/STI, child health, malnutrition, etc. in the waiting room;
∎ Hold special counseling sessions to victims of violence against women;
∎ Ensure appropriate management and referral of contraceptive users suffering from complication to the respective clinic doctor and other referral centers.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Experience in the health related field.
∎ Experience in urban health programming will be an added advantage for this position
∎ Counselor on health would get priority. Should have experience in private sector/NGO managed hospital/clinics
∎ Team player, excellent interpersonal & communication skill, analytical skills, self- organizing capacity. Open to ideas and contributions from others.
