About the Opportunity

We are developing a premium skincare brand focused on evidence-led, high-quality formulations and are looking for an experienced Cosmetic Formulation Chemist / Skincare R&D Formulator to lead the formulation development of our first product: a premium barrier-hydration facial moisturizer.

This is a hands-on formulation role. We are looking for someone who can take a product concept and translate it into a stable, commercially viable, production-ready formulation rather than simply provide a generic or pre-existing formula.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize a high-quality facial moisturizer / gel-cream formulation from concept to final formula.

• Design and conduct laboratory trials and formulation iterations.

• Work with modern skincare ingredients including niacinamide, panthenol, hyaluronic acid, ceramides, humectants, emollients and soothing/barrier-supporting ingredients.

• Develop appropriate emulsification, preservation, pH and viscosity systems.

• Evaluate ingredient compatibility, texture, absorption, skin feel and formulation stability.

• Conduct or coordinate stability and compatibility testing.

• Troubleshoot issues such as separation, phase instability, viscosity changes, pH drift and preservative concerns.

• Prepare a clear and reproducible manufacturing procedure and formulation documentation.

• Support transition from laboratory batch to pilot/commercial production.

• Recommend suitable raw materials, suppliers and technical specifications where required.

• Advise on relevant quality, safety, GMP and Bangladesh regulatory considerations.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, Cosmetic Science or a closely related discipline.

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in cosmetic / personal-care formulation preferred. Freshers can apply.

• Demonstrated experience developing skincare products, particularly creams, lotions, emulsions or gel-creams.

• Strong understanding of:

  • Emulsion systems and emulsifiers

  • Preservative systems

  • pH and viscosity control

  • Humectants and emollients

  • Active ingredient compatibility

  • Stability testing

  • Cosmetic raw materials

  • Laboratory formulation and scale-up

• Experience taking formulations from lab development to commercial production will be highly valued.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with previous experience in facial moisturizers, barrier-repair products, cosmeceuticals, dermatologist-oriented skincare or premium skincare formulation will receive strong preference.

Experience with niacinamide, panthenol, ceramides, hyaluronic acid and modern lightweight emulsion/gel-cream systems is especially desirable.

Engagement & Confidentiality

This is initially a project-based consulting opportunity, with the possibility of a long-term R&D relationship as the brand expands its product line.

Due to the proprietary nature of the product development, the selected candidate will be required to sign a Confidentiality / NDA and Intellectual Property Agreement before receiving detailed formulation information.

All formulations, modifications, technical documentation and product-development work created specifically for the project will remain the exclusive intellectual property of the brand, subject to the final agreement.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a practical formulator, not just a theoretical chemist.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate previous work on commercial skincare or personal-care formulations. Applicants with relevant portfolios, product-development experience or examples of formulations they have independently developed are strongly encouraged to apply.
