Job Context:
∎ The construction supervisor will work with IRC’s sector team (health, protection etc.) to ensure that all IRC facilities are constructed and maintained following good standards and as per GoB guideline.

∎ Work Location: IRC-Bangladesh, Ukhia Office with frequent travel to IRC program locations
∎ Contract Length: December 31, 2020
Job Responsibilities:
∎ In close consultation with IRC’s sector team, identify the needs in terms of construction of new facilities and operational and maintenance of existing facilities
∎ Work with program team and local authorities to identify suitable sites for construction of IRC facilities’ infrastructure
∎ Frequent visit to all the existing facilities to undertake technical assessment of existing facilities (infrastructure) and provide necessary recommendations to ensure that facilities’ infrastructure is well maintained
∎ Prepare engineering design and estimates, BoQs for infrastructure of various facilities following GoB guideline
∎ Prepare electrical wearing design and estimates BoQs for infrastructure of various facilities
∎ Participate in procurement of construction services (if out sourced) and release of payment (certification of work completion) as asked by the supervisor
∎ Supervise contractors / suppliers involved in construction of IRC facilities’ infrastructure on day to basis to ensure that the construction is done as per agreed design and BoQ, quality standards and in timely manner
∎ Undertake regular maintenance of facilities’ infrastructure deploying need based daily labor
∎ Contribute in new proposal development by providing specialized technical support related to construction of and O&M of existing facilities
∎ Provide support to operations team in terms of O&M of IRC premises (office, guest house, warehouse etc.)
∎ Support operations team on market assessments as required
∎ Represent IRC externally as asked by the supervisor
Additional Requirements:
∎ A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience with International and NGOs or with government or in private sector
∎ Proven skills on preparing engineering design, BoQ and estimates
∎ Proven skills on preparing electrical wearing design, BoQ and estimate
∎ Excellent understanding of GoB guideline related to construction
∎ Experience of working in emergency response and in Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar is an added advantage
∎ Experience of construction and O&M of health facilities is an added advantage
∎ Excellent command over local language
∎ Good command over English language
Salary: Negotiable
