∎ NESL now invites applications from competent candidates for the post of Civil Supervisor Construction for employment with one of our prospective clients working to set up a grid-tied solar power plant in Bangladesh.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Supervise and manage crews of skilled and unskilled civil construction workers at the construction site of a solar power generation plant.
∎ Read and understand structural and architectural drawings, surveys and design documents; identify potential constructability issues.
∎ Plan and schedule work for the efficient use of labor, machines and materials at the project site.
∎ Supervise and inspect all civil construction activities to ensure execution in accordance with delivery schedule, site specific work plans, approved work methods, quality, safety and environmental management plans and approved construction drawings.
∎ Perform field inspections to evaluate the work performed and materials used; verify quality of workmanship, quality of materials used, and compliance with plans, specifications, estimates, applicable codes and regulations.
∎ Verify material quality upon arrival, document conformance and abnormalities.
∎ Note deficiencies and deviations from plans using the non-conformance process; refer serious problems and disagreements in interpretation to the project management.
∎ Maintain daily attendance of construction crews, complete and submit daily site inspection forms and reports.
∎ Interpret structural drawings, budgets and deadlines to meet the requirements of the project.
∎ Interpret and explain codes, analyze practices and recommend improvements; maintain, update and assure the accuracy of inspects records, inspection documentation and project files.
∎ Liaise with the supervisors of other discipline on a continuous basis to ensure smooth execution of the construction activities
∎ Collaborate with all stakeholders; investigate complaints and coordinate effective resolution of conflicts and disagreements.
∎ Perform any other construction related work required by the management.
Additional Requirements:
∎ 5+ years' experience in industrial or commercial construction environment in managerial or supervisory role; experience in renewable energy projects will be given preference.
∎ Strong understanding of structural drawings and blueprints, design software, building materials, surveys, budgets and building codes.
∎ Must be proficient in use of computer programs such as MS Word, Excel, AutoCAD AND Internet.
∎ Must physically fit to navigate and work in remote field locations and work outdoors in difficult weather conditions. Must be able to walk, hike, climb ladders, and work on steep, rough terrain for extended periods of time.
∎ Strong multitasking ability to watch over different teams and activities at the same time.
∎ Excellent communication skills and strong team playing sprit.
Salary: Negotiable
