Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Overview
∎ Business Analysts assess how organisations are performing and help them improve their processes and systems. They conduct research and analysis to identify business problems and devise effective solutions, then help introduce these solutions to the business. In this role, you act as a bridge between stakeholders, often translating business needs into technical requirements to ensure proposed solutions align with organisational goals.
∎ Key Responsibilities
∎ • Requirement Elicitation: Liaise with internal colleagues and external stakeholders to gather and define business requirements and objectives.
∎ • Process Analysis: Analyse current processes, workflows, and data to identify inefficiencies, anticipate future needs, and pinpoint areas for improvement.
∎ • Solution Development: Use data modelling techniques and analysis to formulate effective solutions and process improvements that address business needs.
∎ • Risk & Opportunity Assessment: Evaluate opportunities and potential risks associated with proposed solutions to ensure informed decision-making and viable recommendations.
∎ • Stakeholder Buy-In: Present recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders, securing buy-in for proposed changes and addressing any concerns about impacts or risks.
∎ • Documentation: Document business requirements, process flows, and findings in clear, well-structured reports and specifications for reference by both business and technical teams.
∎ • Implementation Support: Support the implementation of approved solutions, coordinating user acceptance testing (UAT), resolving issues, and ensuring changes are effectively integrated and deliver the expected outcomes.

∎ Qualifications:
∎ • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
∎ • Experience: Proven experience as a Business Analyst (or in a similar analytical role), demonstrating success in requirements analysis, process improvement, and solution implementation.

∎ • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical skills with an informed, evidence-based approach to problem-solving.
∎ • Communication: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present to diverse audiences and translate technical information for non-technical stakeholders.
∎ • Stakeholder Management: Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels to drive consensus and lead positive change initiatives.
∎ • Documentation & Presentation: Strong documentation skills and attention to detail, with proficiency in producing clear reports and presentations on findings and recommendations.
∎ • Organisation & Time Management: Excellent planning and organisational abilities to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines effectively.
∎ • Technical Acumen: Comfortable using technology and business analysis tools, with a solid understanding of software development processes and project methodologies. (Experience with data analysis and visualisation tools like Excel or BI software is expected.)
∎ • Programming Knowledge: Basic understanding of programming or database querying (e.g., SQL) is advantageous but not essential. (Many successful Business Analysts come from non-technical backgrounds, so deep programming expertise is not a core requirement.)
∎ • Adaptability: Flexible and forward-thinking mindset, committed to staying up-to-date with industry best practices and continuously improving processes.
