Educational Requirements:
∎ Candidates with a diploma in civil technology should have a minimum of 10 years of overall experience with at least 5 years of experience as a civil engineering CAD expert. Candidates with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering should have minimum of 6 years of overall experience, with at least 3 years of experience as a civil engineering CAD expert.
Job Context:
∎ The Feed the Future Bangladesh Agricultural Infrastructure Development Activity is a United States Agency for International Development funded project implemented by PAE, an Amentum company. The Activity seeks to address the infrastructure needs of farmers through investments in rural roads, market centers, collection centers, cold storage facilities, and irrigation systems. By investing in rural infrastructure, the Activity will increase incomes, create jobs, reduce crop losses, improve agricultural productivity, and strengthen food security.
∎ The main five objectives of the program are:
∎ Increase access to markets for agricultural produce, inputs, and services by improving transportation of agricultural produce and inputs, while improving the capacity of Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) to maintain rural roads.
∎ Enhance post-harvest handling and storage of agricultural produce by increasing access to post-harvest handling and storage facilities and improving the operation and maintenance of aggregation and storage facilities.
∎ Improve women`s participation in the markets.
∎ Engage the private sector in order to maximize the impact of the Activity.
∎ Build operation and maintenance capacity at the markets.
∎ POSITION: PAE/Amentum seek a full-time AutoCAD Designer. The AutoCAD Designer is responsible for using CAD software to produce drawings and checking design drawings for accuracy and adherence to minimum standards for all projects (about thirteen projects in Faridpur district) executed by the Activity. The projects include construction of buildings, rural market sheds, collection centers including electrical and plumbing and market open spaces, internal roads and drains, rural roads and culverts, retaining walls/palisading works, etc. The AutoCAD Designer will complete all work as directed by PAE/Amentum`s Design Manager. The AutoCAD Designer job duties require him/her to work in PAE/Amentum`s office in Dhaka, with occasional travel to job sites (Faridpur) to obtain or verify measurements and other relevant information.
∎ DURATION: PAE/Amentum seek a full-time AutoCAD Designer with immediate availability through November 2024.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The AutoCAD Designer responsibilities include:
∎ Study topographical survey maps, mouza maps, and site maps and develop preliminary engineering drawings of the potential infrastructure interventions mentioned in the Activity's feasibility assessment reports using CAD software.
∎ Study the environmental mitigation plan for design works, design codes and practices, LGED's updated schedule of rates including annexes, plans, sections, elevations and detailed construction drawings and detailing including notes, bar bending schedules, etc.
∎ Assist quantity surveyor/estimator prepare detailed cost estimates and bill of quantities.
∎ Assist the construction subcontractors prepare the shop drawings and the as built drawings providing the physical layout of the interventions.
∎ Collaborate with engineers and other professionals to clarify design specifications.
∎ Complete other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Expert use of Auto-CAD 2D&3D and 3D Sketchup software.
∎ Understanding of survey data and maps, including Mouza maps.
∎ Working knowledge of MS Office packages (Word, Excel, etc.) required.
∎ English language skills, both written and verbal required.
∎ Only Bangladeshi nationals can apply.

Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Compensation will be determined based on experience. The selected candidate will be entitled to 11 floating holidays per year, 14 sick leave days, and 15 paid vacation days. They will also receive two festival bonuses equal to one month's salary each per full year worked.
