Responsibilities & Context:
∎ will work in maintaining close liaison with Project Director, Deputy Team Leader and Senior Municipal Engineer
∎ Assist Pourashavas / City Corporations in preparation of Pourashavas / City Corporations planning of sub-projects meeting all necessary requirements including environmental and social safeguard
∎ Assist the Pourashavas / City Corporations in the selection of eligible sub-projects using sub-project selection criteria supported by economic, social and environmental and social safeguards according to rules / policies / guidelines of GoB and World Bank
∎ Assist in preparation of O&M plans and implementation of O&M sub-projects
∎ Assist Pourashava/City Corporation to prepare estimates of O&M works;
∎ Assist the Pourashava/City Corporation in the preparation of bid document, detail design and estimate, etc.
∎ Assist PIUs in tender evaluation and contract award process;
∎ Ensure the quality of the works by following Quality Assurance Manual;
∎ Assist contract administration and supervision to ensure quality control of sub-projects;Ensure regular checking and supervision of works at field level and confirm quality and quantity of work as per specification and certify bills for construction work;
∎ Supervise and ensure quality of O&M works, certify O&M payments and submit supervision and monitoring report to Team Leader & Deputy Team Leader;
∎ Support Team Leader and other PMU and regional based consultants in implementation of their assigned activities at Pourashava/City Corporation level;
∎ Any other responsibilities assigned by the Project Director, Team Leader (DSM), Deputy Team Leader and concern PIU.
∎ The Assistant Municipal Engineer will be based at Pourashava/City Corporation office for full time assignment for supervision of works at Pourashavas/City Corporations level. The Assistant Municipal Engineer will supervise the work of Pourashava/City Corporation in close co-operation of the Pourashava/City Corporation engineers. The assignment of Assistant Municipal Engineer will include, but not limited to the following:
∎ will work in maintaining close liaison with Project Director, Deputy Team Leader and Senior Municipal Engineer
