Requirements:
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Prepare initial cost estimates during the feasibility phase to support project decision-making.
∎ Research to gather data on material and labor costs from relevant stakeholders.
∎ Develop preliminary cost estimates based on early design information.
∎ Incorporate input from architectural and engineering teams to refine estimates.
∎ Create detailed, accurate cost breakdowns for approved designs, including labor, materials, and overheads.
∎ Ensure estimates reflect current market rates and project requirements.
∎ Review and update final cost estimates at defined intervals or when significant design or scope changes occur.
∎ Collaborate with respective engineering teams to provide detailed cost estimates for architectural, structural, electrical, and plumbing works.
∎ Monitor project expenditures to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
∎ Conduct variance analysis to compare actual costs against estimates and budgets.
∎ Regularly update cost standards to reflect market trends and company policies.
∎ Establish and refine costing policies and procedures to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance.
∎ Provide training and support to stakeholders on costing methodologies.
