Education:
  • Bachelor/Honors
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Tourism & Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

  • A master’s degree or MBA will be an added advantage.

  • Relevant professional training in amusement ride operations, safety management, risk assessment, or water park operations will be preferred.

Responsibilities & Context:

A. Strategic Planning & Business Development

  • Develop and implement operational strategies, annual business plans, operating budgets, and performance targets for all rides and attractions across the Dry Park and Water Park.

  • Translate organizational objectives into actionable operational plans, KPIs, and measurable business outcomes.

  • Identify opportunities to increase visitor numbers, ride utilization, revenue generation, and overall operational efficiency.

  • Analyze market trends, visitor preferences, competitor activities, and industry best practices to improve park performance.

  • Support management in developing new rides, attractions, guest experiences, and operational improvement initiatives.

B. Rides & Attractions Operations Management

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of all rides, attractions, and associated facilities in both the Dry Park and Water Park.

  • Ensure rides operate according to approved operating procedures, manufacturer guidelines, capacity limits, and safety standards.

  • Develop operating schedules, ride rotation plans, opening and closing checklists, and contingency procedures.

  • Monitor ride availability, downtime, queue management, operational capacity, and service delivery.

  • Coordinate with Engineering and Maintenance teams to ensure timely preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and safe return to service.

  • Ensure proper operational control of water slides, wave pools, water-based attractions, and other aquatic recreational facilities, where applicable.

C. Ride Safety, Risk Management & Compliance

  • Establish and enforce ride safety protocols, operational procedures, emergency response plans, and risk-control measures.

  • Ensure daily pre-opening inspections, safety checks, equipment readiness verification, and documented operational handovers.

  • Monitor compliance with applicable laws, regulations, technical standards, manufacturer requirements, and internal policies.

  • Ensure appropriate lifeguard coverage, water safety procedures, rescue readiness, and emergency response arrangements for water attractions.

  • Lead incident reporting, investigation, root-cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

  • Coordinate emergency drills and ensure employees are trained to respond to ride malfunctions, medical emergencies, adverse weather, and other operational incidents.

  • Immediately suspend unsafe rides or attractions and ensure reopening only after the required safety clearance and authorization.

D. Financial Management & Budgetary Control

  • Prepare and manage annual operating and capital expenditure budgets in coordination with Finance and relevant departments.

  • Monitor actual performance against approved budgets, business plans, revenue targets, and operating cost benchmarks.

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety, service quality, or guest experience.

  • Optimize manpower deployment, energy consumption, consumables, equipment utilization, and other operating expenses.

  • Prepare financial and operational performance reports and recommend corrective actions for deviations from approved targets.

E. Revenue Growth & Guest Experience

  • Develop initiatives to improve ride utilization, visitor throughput, repeat visitation, and guest satisfaction.

  • Monitor guest feedback, complaints, waiting times, ride availability, and service quality.

  • Coordinate with Marketing, Sales, Ticketing, and Customer Service teams to support promotional campaigns, group bookings, corporate events, and seasonal business initiatives.

  • Establish service standards for ride operators and frontline teams to deliver a safe, enjoyable, and consistent guest experience.

  • Implement service recovery procedures and resolve escalated operational complaints promptly.

F. Manpower Planning & Team Leadership

  • Lead, supervise, and develop ride operations teams, including supervisors, ride operators, dispatch personnel, lifeguards, and other relevant operational staff.

  • Prepare manpower plans, duty rosters, shift schedules, and deployment arrangements according to operational requirements.

  • Establish individual and departmental performance targets and conduct periodic performance reviews.

  • Ensure adequate training, competency assessment, certification where required, and refresher training for all relevant employees.

  • Build a culture of accountability, discipline, teamwork, safety awareness, and continuous improvement.

  • Identify training needs and develop succession plans for key operational positions.

G. Maintenance Coordination & Asset Management

  • Coordinate with Engineering and Maintenance teams to establish preventive maintenance schedules and minimize unplanned downtime.

  • Ensure accurate records of ride inspections, maintenance activities, defects, breakdowns, and operational clearances.

  • Monitor ride performance and equipment reliability and recommend refurbishment, upgrades, or replacement where necessary.

  • Ensure operational teams report defects immediately and follow equipment isolation and lockout/tagout procedures where applicable.

  • Participate in technical assessments and commissioning activities for new rides and attractions before operational handover.

H. Water Park Operations & Hygiene Management

  • Oversee operational readiness of water slides, pools, aquatic attractions, changing rooms, and related guest facilities.

  • Ensure appropriate water quality monitoring, treatment coordination, hygiene standards, and documentation in collaboration with qualified technical personnel.

  • Maintain effective controls for drowning prevention, slip-and-fall risks, restricted areas, weather-related closures, and pool capacity.

  • Ensure appropriate supervision, rescue equipment availability, first-aid support, and emergency communication systems.

  • Coordinate with relevant teams to maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and safe water park conditions throughout operating hours.

I. Operational Reporting & Performance Monitoring

  • Establish and monitor KPIs covering revenue, visitor throughput, ride availability, downtime, safety incidents, guest satisfaction, and operating costs.

  • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and annual operational reports for management.

  • Analyze performance gaps, identify root causes, and implement corrective action plans.

  • Maintain accurate operational records, incident registers, inspection logs, and compliance documentation.

  • Present business performance reviews, improvement proposals, and annual operating plans to senior management.
