Job Context:
∎ The primary purpose of this role is to develop transport economic model for freight transportation in Bangladesh encompassing the strategic road network of Bangladesh.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Collecting road inventory, road condition, traffic, and other economic data of the road networks of Bangladesh;
∎ Developing an economic model for axle load control in Bangladesh using Life Cycle Cost Analysis in HDM-4 to capture a robust Vehicle Operating Cost (VOC) appropriate for Bangladesh;
∎ Developing a strategy for optimizing the number and location of service areas for freight transport;
∎ Developing economic model to simulate different scenarios (Do Minimum and Do something) of axle load control stations;
∎ Developing an understanding to identify the impact of overloaded freight vehicles for all types of road pavements including Flexible (Asphalt), Rigid Concrete and Unsealed (Gravel) roads;
∎ Performing Lifecycle Economic Analysis for different alternative strategies for Axle Load Control using HDM-4;
∎ Performing financial analysis of the impact of overload penalty;
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 25 years
∎ 5 years of professional experience of which at least 2 years in Highways Development and Management (HDM-4) with lifecycle economic analysis
∎ Candidates should have knowledge on report writing and basics of other tools (e.g. Python, SQL, HDM-4 etc.);
