Educational Requirements:

Job Context:

∎ ABOUT the POSITION.
∎ The Technical Coordinator will provide technical inputs, knowledge, and assistance in project activities on mental health and psychosocial issues and producing learning documents. The Technical Coordinator will work closely with project team. S/he will report to the Project Manager. The Technical Coordinator will provide MH capacity building support to the project`s field staff, including partner organizations. S/he will provide technical guidance to community healthcare service providers in inclusive psychosocial and mental health first aid and advise on how to remove social stigma. S/he will work and liaise with DG Health, NIMH, academic and research institutions and with global and regional MH network and forums for horizontal learning sharing feeding back to the project team.
∎ She/he will be responsible for the project`s technical oversight in accordance with the project`s target outcomes and log frame.
∎ The candidate will have at least 5 years practical experience working as a Technical Coordinator/Officer on MH and Psychosocial disability with good capacity for screening, training, manual development, and report writing. Experience of working with persons with psychosocial disability and an understanding of their complex situation, including a fair understanding of the disability sector is expected. The position is based in Dhaka but extensive field visits (at least 40% of her/his time) to different project locations is required.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Work closely with and provide support to the Project Manager and project team to ensure the smooth running of mental health project and provide technical supervision of the project's activities. Provide appropriate and quality MH and psychosocial inputs to the project's interventions.
∎ Ensure consistency in the activities with established best practices, acceptable international and national health standards as well as exporting updated knowledge and information.
∎ Assist project partners and field staff, including volunteers, to identify the mental health needs of CYMH and development of support systems with appropriate tools and methods.
∎ Provide psychosocial technical support to the project activities.
∎ Provide technical support to the project and MEL Coordinator for extracting project learning on a quarterly basis and progress monitoring.
∎ Produce documents, periodical reports, case stories and learning materials with a clinical and psychosocial angle.
∎ Support to develop tools, methodologies for studies, research, data collection etc. and work closely with MEL Coordinator
∎ Identify gaps of inclusion in mental health and other policies (such as psychosocial counselling policy) and identify barriers to access to mental health and create briefings for advocacy. Provide technical inputs for donor and organizational reports in relation to the mental health and psychosocial issues of children and young people making recommendations for further improvement.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Professional experience in national or international development NGOs for at least 5 years in similar works. Previous working experience in mental health projects in a similar position will add value.
∎ Skills and understanding.
∎ Good understanding of the overall context of disability and development, international and national legislation, country, and global situation on disability and especially children and youth with mental health impairments. Understanding of Bangladesh Mental Health Act, Policy and Strategy would be added value.
∎ This position has lot of interaction and engagement with children and vulnerable adults, therefore, strong adherence to ADD International's Children and Vulnerable Adult Safeguarding Policy Gender Policy is essential, being sensitive to these issues as appropriate.
∎ Cross-culturally adaptable and able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well as a part of a team and to interact professionally with a culturally and linguistically diverse staff, program, and participants both in the office and outside. Able to reinforce good working practices.
∎ Good understanding of the overall health system/structure (and especially non-communicable diseases) and socio-cultural issues and practices of Bangladesh.
∎ Outstanding oral and written communication skills including fluency in both Bengali and English.
∎ Advanced computer skills including working with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
∎ Technical Support:
∎ Capacity to provide technical support and training within the areas of mental health and psychosocial issues.
∎ Proficiency and capacity to provide methodological support for the research, study and assessment in the areas of mental health and psychosocial issues.
∎ Have good ideas and skills in providing technical support for monitoring and preparing learning documents on mental health and psychosocial issues.
∎ Support for networking with GoB and other stakeholders in the country and global level
∎ Support for advocacy and OPD engagement with technical issues of mental health and psychosocial issue of children and youth.
∎ OTHER:
∎ Have knowledge and clear understanding on human rights and persons with disability's rights along with national and international legal instruments on disability rights and mental health.
∎ Extremely flexible and able to cope with stressful situations.
∎ Ability to travel locally.

Salary:
∎ Salary: BDT 60,000.00-65,000.00 Monthly Gross (inclusive all benefits) depending on experience and qualification
