Responsibilities & Context:

• Read and interpret structural steel drawings, blueprints, erection plans, and technical specifications.
• Erect and assemble structural steel frames, columns, beams, trusses, platforms, and other steel structures.
• Position, align, level, and secure steel components according to approved drawings.
• Perform bolting, fastening, and connection of structural steel members using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Assist with lifting, positioning, and installation of heavy steel components using cranes, hoists, and rigging equipment.
• Perform structural alignment, leveling, and dimensional checks during erection.
• Install steel stairs, handrails, platforms, supports, and other structural components as required.
• Carry out minor cutting, grinding, drilling, and fitting work to ensure proper installation.
• Work safely at height using scaffolding, ladders, safety harnesses, and other fall-protection equipment.
• Coordinate with crane operators, riggers, welders, fabricators, supervisors, and other construction workers.
• Inspect connections and erected structures for proper alignment, stability, and workmanship.
• Identify and report structural, dimensional, or installation issues to the supervisor.
• Follow project specifications, quality standards, method statements, and construction schedules.
• Maintain tools and equipment and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Strictly follow workplace health and safety procedures and required PPE.
• Complete assigned steel erection work within project timelines while maintaining safety and quality standards.
