Professional qualifications such as CA (CC), ACCA, and CMA certification will be an added advantage.

• Strong knowledge of bank financing, including loan proposals, sanction and renewal requests, drawdown, rescheduling, and restructuring.

• Hands-on experience with LC, bank guarantees (performance, advance payment, and bid security), overdraft, and other credit facilities.

• Sound knowledge of IFRS/BFRS, VAT, income tax, and other statutory requirements of Bangladesh.

• Experience in preparing cash flow statements, budgets, and financial forecasts.

• Experience in project billing, IPC verification, and receivables management in a construction company.

• Working knowledge of accounting software (Tally ERP preferred) and advanced MS Excel.

• Ability to coordinate with internal and external auditors and support audit processes.

Job Context

Mir Akhter Hossain Ltd. is seeking an experienced professional to join its Finance & Accounts team at the Head Office. As a key team member, the selected candidate will play a major role in accounting operations, bank financing, statutory compliance, financial reporting, and coordinating audits for the company’s construction projects.

Job Responsibilities

1. Lead and supervise the day-to-day operations of the Finance & Accounts department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.

2. Draft, review, and finalize professional English correspondence with banks, financial institutions, clients, and other stakeholders.

3. Prepare and process loan-related letters and documents, including loan proposals, sanction and renewal requests, drawdown and disbursement requests, rescheduling and restructuring applications, and other banking correspondence.

4. Handle banking operations such as Letters of Credit (LC), bank guarantees (performance, advance payment, and bid security), overdraft and credit facilities, and fund transfers.

5. Maintain regular liaison with banks and financial institutions, and ensure timely compliance with loan terms and covenants.

6. Prepare and monitor cash flow statements, fund requirements, budgets, and financial forecasts.

7. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS/BFRS and applicable regulations.

8. Ensure timely and accurate payment and filing of VAT, tax, and other statutory obligations in compliance with the laws of Bangladesh.

9. Coordinate with internal and external auditors and support the annual audit process.

10. Verify and process project billing, Interim Payment Certificates (IPCs), and receivables in coordination with the project teams.

11. Strengthen internal controls and financial reporting systems to ensure accuracy and transparency.

12. Review and analyze the terms and conditions of bank sanction letters for credit facilities, obtain formal management acceptance, and submit the signed acceptance to the bank within the stipulated timeline.
