Educational Requirements:
∎ Advance university degree from an accredited academic institution in Medicine as a Medical Doctor with post-graduate degree or diploma in Anaesthesiology and/or at least one year training in Anaesthesiology.

Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 3 year(s)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Administer anaesthesia or sedation and appropriate pain management during medical procedures, using local, intravenous, spinal, or caudal methods in accordance to standard guidelines.
∎ Monitor patient before, during, and after anaesthesia and counteract adverse reactions or complications, such as provision of fluids and blood.
∎ Provide and maintain life support and airway management and help prepare patients for emergency surgery.
∎ Examine patient, obtain medical history, and use diagnostic tests to determine risk during surgical, obstetrical, and other medical procedures.
∎ Position patient on operating table to maximize patient comfort and surgical accessibility.
∎ Decide when patients have recovered or stabilized enough to be sent to another room or ward or to be sent home following outpatient surgery.
∎ Coordinate administration of anaesthetics with surgeons during operation.
∎ Confer with other medical professionals to determine type and method of anaesthetic or sedation to render patient insensible to pain.
∎ Coordinate and direct work of nurses, medical technicians, and other health care providers.
∎ Provide medical care and consultation in many settings, prescribing medication and treatment and referring patients for surgery.
∎ Support other theatre stau and train them on proper way to provide optimal care to patients needing surgery as well as the proper post-surgery care.
∎ Schedule and maintain use of surgical suite, including operating, wash-up, waiting rooms, and anaesthetic and sterilizing equipment.
∎ Instruct individuals and groups on ways to preserve health and prevent disease.
∎ Conduct medical research to aid in controlling and curing disease, to investigate new medications, and to develop and test new medical techniques.
∎ Liaise and coordinate with local Government and health authorities and other stakeholders with a view to strengthening of health care delivery systems
∎ Assist the National Programme Oflcer in project monitoring and identifying priority health needs and other activities including but not limited to regular disease outbreak monitoring and reporting to the health authorities and take part in health awareness campaign, etc.
∎ When required, take part in coordination meetings, workshops, training events and conferences at the field and district level.
∎ Perform such other duties that may be assigned by the supervisors.
∎ Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse
∎ Actively promote Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) standards within IOM and amongst beneficiaries served

∎ Good in written communication in English and Bangla
∎ Computer skills in MS Word, Excel and Power Point

∎ Experience Requirement:
∎ At least three years of experience in relevant areas of specialization, i.e.: at secondary to tertiary level with Operation Theatre (OT) providing surgical intervention;
∎ Knowledge and experience with working in the field of public health will be an added advantage;
∎ Excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills;
∎ Well-developed skills in personal organization, priority setting, problem solving and writing; Strong client orientation and service approach with personal commitment, euiciency, flexibility, and drive for results;
