Responsibilities & Context:
∎ The position is responsible to oversee construction and maintenance of concrete infrastructure and renovation of Women Empowerment project supported by UNWOMEN in Cox’s Bazar. It requires clear understanding on engineering design, studying maps, drawing and blueprints, calculating costs for labour, materials, liaison with Donor, AAB and other organization related stakeholders, environment friendly construction, reporting and documentation. The position also requires knowledge and aware about gender responsive and sensitive approach, human rights-based approach as well as to be respectful to local context, values, norms of community. The position will be responsible for Camp level construction work. Working hours for consulting civil engineers are generally normal office hours, with some extra hours and weekend work close to project deadlines. Contractors, on the other hand, often work shifts and weekends and are outside in all weathers.
∎ Complete MPWC & Women Market construction and interior by preparing engineering design and documents and confirming specifications.
∎ Design construction projects by studying project requirement, concept, SoP of GBV program and reviewing existing models of MPWC.
∎ Determine the MPWC construction and interior costs by calculating labour, material, and related costs.
∎ Oversee and regular monitoring of the work to be done by sub-contractor/ labour and ensure quality output of their doings. Ensure that the construction work complies with legal requirements and health and safety.
∎ Make sure that overall assignment run smoothly, and structures are completed within budget and on time.
∎ Provide support to explore the opportunities linking with Government official (CiC), labour, actors, project participants, donors and project engineer & manager.
∎ Prepare a report that includes store maintenance, updates on changes, and best practices for engineering collaboration with the communication team to incorporate the concept of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in interior and structural design.
∎ Maintain smooth interpersonal communication within teams and organizations.
∎ Collect relevant knowledge materials and contribute to strengthening team member’s capacity through sharing knowledge and information.
∎ Project: Promoting Women and Girls’ Empowerment through Enhancing Protection and Economic Resilience of Rohingya Women and Adolescent Girls in 3 Camps- Phase III (Funded by UN Women)

Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Monthly Gross Salary BDT. 66,999 with other admissible benefits such as mobile & internet allowance, medical benefit, group life insurance etc.
