• Skills in organizing, directing and supervising of nursing personnel on respective work area.

Technical Competencies.

• Basic Computer Skill. Guiding, teaching and inspiring the nurses on respective work area. Good technical Knowledge and skills on Specialty/area wise medical equipment and machines.

• Behavioral Competencies: Discipline, Commitment, Team Player, Dynamic.

• Council Registration Requirements: Valid Registration and License from BNC.

Job Context

• We are looking for a nurse to be responsible and accountable for the smooth patient services in timelines.

• The successful candidate needs to improved skills, a proven professional experience and a detailed knowledge of nursing profession.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

• Carry out a full range of a staff nurse duties, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patient`s condition and care.

• Monitor life support equipment (e.g. ventilator), administer medication and observe patient`s vital signs and reactions to medical procedure.

• Maintain a safe environment when caring for patients, including those patients requiring frequent levels of monitoring.

• Evaluate and monitor the patient`s progress closely.

• 5. Update doctors about the patient`s progress and follow precise instructions about patient care.

• Identify sudden or subtle changes in a patient`s medical condition. Prioritize nursing care, recognize deterioration in a patient`s condition and alert Charge Nurse Nurse Manager and attending medical staff immediately.

• Begin treatment and monitor doses as ordered by doctors.

• Respond to a medical emergency and alert the appropriate doctors.

• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in the ICU unit. Be able to provide clear directions and guidance for procedures and routines.

• Use effective communication, written and verbal with all levels of staff including the multidisciplinary team, patients and relatives.

• Provide support and education to the patient`s family, answer questions appropriately.

• Fosters good relationships with other departments, the multidisciplinary team and visitors to the unit. Helps to achieve and maintain morale for both staff and patients.

• Ensure that all items used for the patients inclusive of medications, surgical supplies are duly recorded and charged.

• Ensure correct usage of equipment and assist in the training of others as required.

• Adhere to the Infection Prevention, control policy, and maintain high standards at all times.

• Understand how risk management impacts nurse’s role.

• Complete all necessary paperwork before transferring a patient.

• Supervise the cleanliness of assigned area or the ward.

• Check DDA and controlled drugs, emergency trolley, portable oxygen for each shift.

• Carry out inventory on surgical items and equipment for each week.

• Maintain patient`s safety by taking preventive measures against accidents and incidents.

• Responsible to report to Nurse Managers/ Supervisor of any incidents.
