Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Deliver high-quality nursing care throughout all phases of the perioperative process (pre-op, intra-op, and post-op).
∎ Assist the surgical team with procedures including instrument handling, patient positioning, and sterile field maintenance.
∎ Ensure correct surgical safety protocols are followed (e.g., WHO Surgical Safety Checklist).Monitor patients’ vital signs and response during procedures.
∎ Manage emergency situations in the OT with prompt response and coordination.
∎ Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are sterilized and available.
∎ Oversee inventory management of OT supplies and equipment.
∎ Liaise with surgeons, anesthetists, and other departments to coordinate OT schedules.
∎ Ensure infection control and waste disposal protocols are strictly followed.
∎ Accurately document nursing interventions and patient records.
∎ Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and incident reporting.
∎ Maintain confidentiality and adhere to legal and ethical standards of care.
∎ Clinical Duties:
