Educational Requirements:
∎ M.Sc in Microbiology or, Biochemistry or, Genetic Engineering and at least 5 years of experience of working in a research laboratory. Candidates with an MBBS in addition to the MSc OR a PhD will also be considered and prioritized.

Job Context:
∎ About CHRF: Child Health Research Foundation (CHRF) is a non-profit research organization in Dhaka, Bangladesh, registered under the NGO Affairs Bureau. Founded in 2007 by a multidisciplinary research group, we operate with the core mission to improve child health by facilitating appropriate policy decisions on the treatment and prevention of infectious diseases through quality research and advocacy using available resources. We conduct research in four hospitals (Dhaka Shishu Hospital, Dr. MR Khan Shishu hospital, Chittagong Ma-O-Shishu Hospital, and Kumudini Women`s Medical College) and five microbiology laboratories around the country. We collaborate with different international organizations like Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, World Health Organization, Edinburgh University, Stanford University, Johns Hopkins University, Centre for Disease Control, etc.
∎ We invite applications for the position "Senior Research Officer" (depending on experience) to work with our core research and diagnostic team.
∎ Employment term: Fixed-term/Regular
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Supervise processing of clinical specimens from a range of sources and/or identification of microorganisms using conventional and/or molecular techniques.
∎ Plan, execute, and supervise laboratory activities and analysis for research studies, including maintenance of equipment and logistics, and travel to site laboratories.
∎ Write research findings for scientific publication and preparing project reports.
∎ Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate new molecular techniques in the lab.
∎ Plan and organize training sessions for a general audience or study-specific personnel.
∎ Keeping up with new research and relevant literature.
∎ Willing to visit field sites across Bangladesh when necessary and work with the field teams
Additional Requirements:
∎ Must be highly organized and be particularly attentive to details
∎ Must possess problem-solving, critical thinking, and management skill and be able to work independently
∎ Must be enthusiastic to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment and be willing to take initiative
∎ Excellent communication skills in both English and Bangla
∎ Capacity to supervise junior colleagues
∎ Project coordination experience and capacity
Salary:
∎ Tk. 65000 - 80000 (Monthly)
∎ Salary range: BDT 65,000 - 80,000 (depending on the experience and/or qualifications of the candidate)
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Contributory provident fund and festival allowance (Eid/Puja/Christmas and Baishakhi)
