Requirements
- 8 to 10 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Garments
Additional Requirements
- Strong practical, hands-on mechanical and technical skills across weaving, knitting and fibre-processing machinery; sound trouble-shooting ability for construction and process defects.
- Working knowledge of weave/knit structure design and, where used, CAD/design software for pattern and construction development.
- Good leadership and shop-floor supervisory skills; strong cross-functional coordination with the Project Development Group and Testing Laboratory teams to keep sample flow moving efficiently.
- Sound understanding of machine safety, noise and dust control practices relevant to heavy textile machinery; fluency in Bengali, working English; comfortable with basic MS Office and sample/production tracking tools.
- Minimum 8–10 years' hands-on experience operating or supervising sample-making, pilot-plant or production-scale weaving, knitting, or nonwoven equipment in a textile mill, apparel manufacturer, or R&D/sampling environment.
- Practical experience across multiple fabric construction types (woven, knitted, non-woven) is a strong advantage; experience with elastic-yarn covering processes is a plus.
- Prior experience translating design/technical specifications into machine settings and sample constructions, and working alongside dyeing/finishing and testing teams, is preferred.
Responsibilities & Context
Pilot-Scale Prototype Production: Operate and manage prototyping machinery—including weaving, knitting, carding/garneting and yarn-covering equipment—to produce woven, knitted and non-woven fabric prototypes.
Technical Development: Translate technical specifications into machine settings and fabric constructions, troubleshoot production issues, and optimize prototypes to meet required specifications.
Machine Management: Oversee machine setup, changeovers, scheduling and routine technical maintenance; coordinate major servicing and new equipment requirements.
Project & Testing Coordination: Work closely with the R&D Projects team and Testing Laboratory to manage materials, prototype production, sample flow and testing requirements.
Team Management: Lead and develop machine operators and sample-makers, ensuring proper work allocation, technical competency and safe machine operation.
HSE & Compliance: Ensure safe operation of machinery and compliance with HSE policies, PPE requirements, housekeeping standards and applicable labour regulations.
Documentation & Traceability: Maintain machine settings, construction records, sample logs and technical documentation to ensure repeatability and full sample traceability.
Budget & Resources: Support planning and control of consumables, spare parts, operating requirements and capital investment for prototyping equipment.
