Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Assist to Project Coordinator to develop Cash for Work guideline to implement the program effectively.
∎ Lead and manage all engineering and construction-related activities under the NSSS Project.
∎ Scheme selection, feasibility study, ensure compliance with environment an social safeguards.
∎ CFW scheme implementation, and documentation.
∎ Supervise day-to-day construction activities ensuring quality control, safety, and timely completion.
∎ Prepare work plan, scheme design, drawing, BoQ based on the program.
∎ Ensure that engineering works are aligned with gender-responsive and socially inclusive principles.
∎ Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and community stakeholders for smooth project implementation.
∎ Close supervision and monitoring of CFW activity at camp context.
∎ Work closely with the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) team to track project indicators.
∎ Attend Camp coordination meeting and sector meeting.
∎ Field visit arrangement for the donor and government stakeholders as and when necessary.
∎ Facilitate training and orientation for community members on maintenance and sustainability of infrastructure.
∎ Monitor and report on progress, costs and technical issues to the Project Coordinator.
∎ Work closely with the Camp authorities and other relevant stakeholders.
∎ Prepare regular technical and progress reports for Uttaran and HELVETAS.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Uttaran is a national development organization working in the coastal region of Bangladesh since 1985 to uphold rights and entitlements and to improve the socio-economic condition of the poor and disadvantaged. Uttaran facilitates in getting access to and control over resources by the poor and disadvantaged to improve agricultural productivity and economic empowerment.
∎ Project Background:
∎ Uttaran with the assistance of Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation is implementing Nari Shakti Samaz Shakti (NSSS) project. The objective of the project is to establish a gender-transformative enabling environment that empowers women and marginalized groups to foster safer, inclusive, and resilient communities in the vulnerable contexts of Cox’s Bazar. The project focuses on protecting women and girls aged 10–35 in both host and refugee communities by enhancing resilience, reducing disaster vulnerabilities and creating alternative livelihood opportunities.
