Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Kyoto is an upscale Japanese fusion restaurant in Uttara, Dhaka.
∎ Job Responsibilities for the Position of Operations Manager at Kyoto:
∎ 1. **Operational Management**:
∎ - Oversee daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth service and efficient workflow.
∎ - Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure high-quality food service, hygiene, and customer satisfaction.
∎ - Monitor inventory levels of food, beverages, and supplies; coordinate with suppliers for timely restocking.
∎ 2. **Staff Management & Development**:
∎ - Recruit, train, and supervise restaurant staff, including chefs, waitstaff, and other team members.
∎ - Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
∎ - Foster a positive work environment, promote teamwork, and ensure compliance with safety and health regulations.
∎ 3. **Customer Service Excellence**:
∎ - Maintain a customer-first approach by ensuring that guests receive a high level of service.
∎ - Address customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
∎ - Work with the culinary team to develop and adjust the menu to meet customer preferences and seasonal trends.
∎ 4. **Financial Management**:
∎ - Prepare and manage budgets, ensuring profitability while maintaining cost control over labor, inventory, and other expenses.
∎ - Analyze sales trends and adjust operational strategies to increase revenue and profitability.
∎ - Monitor cash flow, reconcile daily financial transactions, and prepare reports for management review.
∎ 5. **Marketing & Business Development**:
∎ - Develop and execute marketing strategies to increase brand awareness and attract new customers, leveraging social media, promotions, and events.
∎ - Build and maintain relationships with local businesses and community organizations to enhance the restaurant's visibility and reputation.
∎ - Collaborate with the management team to plan and execute events, special promotions, and seasonal offers.
∎ 6. **Quality Control & Menu Development**:
∎ - Ensure that the quality of food, presentation, and service meets the restaurant's standards.
∎ - Work closely with the head chef to develop and introduce new menu items, ensuring a balance between traditional Japanese flavors and innovative fusion dishes.
∎ - Regularly review and update the menu based on customer feedback and market trends.
∎ 7. **Compliance & Licensing**:
∎ - Ensure compliance with all local laws, health and safety regulations, and licensing requirements.
∎ - Conduct regular inspections to maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards.
∎ - Handle audits and inspections from government agencies, addressing any issues that arise.
∎ 8. **Logistics & Supply Chain Management**:
∎ - Coordinate with local and international suppliers to source high-quality ingredients for Japanese cuisine.
∎ - Negotiate contracts with vendors to obtain the best prices and maintain quality standards.
∎ - Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
∎ 9. **Guest Experience Enhancement**:
∎ - Implement programs to enhance the overall dining experience, such as staff training on traditional Japanese dining etiquette.
∎ - Manage reservations, ensure optimal seating arrangements, and create a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
∎ - Monitor customer feedback on platforms such as social media, TripAdvisor, and Google reviews to continuously improve the dining experience.
∎ 10. **Reporting & Communication**:
∎ - Provide regular updates to the restaurant owner/management regarding operations, financial performance, and staff progress.
∎ - Collaborate with the management team to align operational goals with the restaurant’s vision and business objectives.
∎ - Maintain open lines of communication between the kitchen, service staff, and management to ensure smooth operations.
∎ This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of Japanese fusion cuisine, and the ability to balance operational efficiency with customer satisfaction in a competitive market.
