Responsibilities & Context
Job Summary:-
Responsible for operating, monitoring, and controlling stenter machine operations in the finishing section to ensure finished fabric meets required quality standards, dimensional stability, width, GSM, shade, and customer specifications while maintaining production efficiency and minimizing fabric defects.
Operate and monitor stenter machines according to approved production programs and finishing recipes.
Ensure correct machine settings, including:
Temperature of each chamber.
Machine speed.
Overfeed percentage.
Fabric width.
Exhaust and airflow.
Burner and heating system.
Maintain required fabric width, GSM, shrinkage, and dimensional stability.
Ensure proper heat-setting and finishing processes according to fabric composition and customer requirements.
Check fabric quality before, during, and after stenter processing.
Monitor fabric defects such as:
Crease marks.
Bowing and skewing.
Uneven width.
Shade variation.
Selvedge curling.
Over-drying or under-drying.
Coordinate with the Quality, Dyeing, and Finishing teams to resolve quality-related issues.
Ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining quality standards.
Maintain proper records of production, machine parameters, fabric consumption, and quality issues.
Minimize fabric wastage, machine downtime, and process losses.
Ensure proper machine cleaning, maintenance, and housekeeping.
Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with factory rules.
Guide machine operators and helpers to ensure smooth production activities.
Report any abnormal machine conditions or production problems to the immediate supervisor.
