∎ Strong technical expertise in DRR, WASH infrastructure designing. And strong demonstrated command in AutoCAD, ETAB, EPANET, Earthwork calculation applications.
∎ Strong demonstrated skill in conducting engineering survey using technical applications.
∎ Strong command in WASH and DRR related technical national and international codes and standards.
∎ Strong knowledge WQT parameters and field level demonstrated experience in conducting water quality tests.
∎ Ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including community members, government officials, and other NGOs.
∎ Strong facilitation, training, and capacity-building skills.
∎ Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and relevant technical software.
∎ Fluent in both English and Bangla (written and spoken).

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Provide technical expertise in the design, implementation, and monitoring of DRR and WASH interventions.
∎ Support the development of project plans, work plans, and budgets related to DRR and WASH activities.
∎ Develop and review technical guidelines, designs, and implementation strategies for DRR, WASH, and water infrastructure projects.
∎ Ensure the integration of gender-sensitive, inclusive, and culturally appropriate approaches in DRR and WASH activities.
∎ Provide technical support for the construction, installation, and maintenance of WASH facilities (e.g., latrines, water points, handwashing stations) and infrastructure in communities.
∎ Promote climate-resilient WASH practices and water conservation methods in vulnerable communities.Capacity Building and Training:
∎ Organize and facilitate training sessions for WATSAN Committees, community members, local stakeholders, and project staff on DRR, WASH practices, and the maintenance of WASH infrastructure.
∎ Build the capacity of local authorities and community-based organizations to manage and maintain WASH facilities and disaster response measures.Community Mobilization and Engagement:
∎ Work with community leaders, local government bodies, and other stakeholders to raise awareness about disaster preparedness, climate resilience, and WASH practices.
∎ Foster community participation in disaster risk assessments, vulnerability mapping, and the planning and implementation of WASH activities.
∎ Support the design and implementation of community-based disaster preparedness and response plans.Monitoring and Evaluation:
∎ Conduct regular field visits to monitor the progress of DRR and WASH activities, ensuring technical quality and timely implementation.
∎ Collect data, case studies, and lessons learned to support program reports, documentation, and dissemination.
∎ Support the MEAL Officer in conducting assessments, surveys, and evaluations related to DRR and WASH programs.Reporting and Documentation:
∎ Provide input for the preparation of progress reports, donor reports, and technical reports.
∎ Ensure proper documentation of technical processes, designs, and guidelines related to DRR and WASH.

Uttaran facilitates in getting access to and control over resources by the poor and disadvantaged to improve agricultural productivity and economic empowerment.
∎ Uttaran with technical support from HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation Bangladesh will collaborate to implement the “Actions to Climate Change Ensuring Sustainable Solutions (ACCESS) Project” in the southwestern coastal region of Bangladesh. This partnership aims to enhance capacities in adaptation, disaster risk management, climate-induced migration, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), livelihood, soil, and food security through mutual capacity-strengthening programs and knowledge-sharing activities. Together, they will explore, pilot, and disseminate innovative technologies and methodologies while engaging in advocacy efforts to promote their adoption.
∎ Uttaran invites applications for the position titled Officer-DRR and WASH for the Actions to Climate Change Ensuring Sustainable Solutions (ACCESS) project. The Officer - DRR and WASH will play a key role in ensuring that disaster risk reduction measures and water, sanitation, and hygiene practices are integrated into project activities. The officer will provide technical expertise in DRR and WASH, support community mobilization, and work closely with local stakeholders to implement and monitor interventions effectively.
