Job Title: MEP-Plumbing Designer / Draftsman

We are looking for a full-time Plumbing Designer / Draftsman to support the plumbing design and construction drawing requirements of a major airport expansion project（Expansion of Osmani International Airport, Sylhet） in Bangladesh.

The primary responsibility of this position is to prepare, revise, coordinate, and finalize plumbing shop drawings and detailed construction drawings, ensuring that all drawings comply with project specifications, approved design documents, and site conditions.

The position will focus primarily on plumbing drafting and shop drawing preparation, with necessary coordination and technical support during site execution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plumbing Shop Drawing & Design

Water Supply System

• Prepare detailed shop drawings for internal building water supply systems, including layouts, pipe routing, sections, details, and necessary supporting calculations.

• Prepare shop drawings for external water supply networks, including pipelines, valve chambers, connections, and related details.

• Revise and update drawings based on consultant/engineer comments and site requirements.

Sanitary Drainage System

• Prepare detailed shop drawings for internal soil, waste, and sanitary drainage systems, including black water and grey water systems, with necessary supporting calculations.

• Prepare shop drawings for external sewerage networks, including manholes (MH), pipelines, connections, and related details.

• Coordinate drainage layouts with architectural, structural, and other MEP requirements.

Stormwater Drainage System

• Prepare detailed shop drawings for building and external stormwater drainage systems.

• Prepare necessary sections, details, pipe routing drawings, and supporting calculations.

2. Drawing Coordination & Approval

• Review plumbing drawings and ensure proper coordination with structural, architectural, electrical, HVAC, fire protection, and other underground utility systems.

• Identify and resolve clashes and interface issues between plumbing works and other disciplines.

• Incorporate consultant/engineer comments and prepare revised drawings for approval.

• Prepare and maintain drawing registers and revision records.

• Assist in preparing as-built drawings based on actual site installation conditions.

• Coordinate with the project engineering team, consultant, and subcontractors to ensure timely submission and approval of shop drawings.

3. Site Technical Support

• Provide technical support to the site team during the installation and execution of plumbing works.

• Review site conditions and verify that plumbing installation is in accordance with approved shop drawings.

• Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, and plumbing subcontractors to resolve drawing-related technical issues.

• Support site inspection and assist in addressing consultant/CAAB comments related to plumbing works.

• Participate in site measurements and collect relevant information for drawing revisions and as-built documentation.

Key Skills & Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing Engineering, or a related field.

• Proven experience in plumbing shop drawing preparation and drafting, preferably for building, infrastructure, or airport projects.

• Strong knowledge of water supply, sanitary drainage, sewerage, and stormwater drainage systems.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant drafting/design software.

• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.

• Experience in coordinating plumbing drawings with other disciplines and underground utilities.

• Ability to prepare accurate and detailed construction/shop drawings independently.

• Good understanding of construction methods and practical site conditions.

• Experience working with consultants and responding to drawing review comments is preferred.

• Previous experience in large-scale building, infrastructure, or airport projects will be an advantage.

Position Focus

The primary focus of this position is full-time plumbing design and drafting, particularly the preparation and coordination of plumbing shop drawings and detailed construction drawings.
